Red Like A Tomato

Albert's POV

I suddenly wake up to hear a familiar ringing sound coming from my computer/office room. I rub my eyes, the sharp memories of Lana and I fighting last night stab back to me. I don't remember it exactly because most people, including me, like to block that stuff out. But I remember it ending by me staying in the guest room. The familiar sound suddenly stopped, then started up again as I shook my thoughts away. I got up and slowly walked over to the computer, exhaustion making me drag my feet. Before I do anything, I look at the time. It was 3:46 A.M. I frowned, recalling half of Lana and I's argument about me staying up so late or whatever... My eyes trail over to the "Incoming Call" on my computer screen. I check the name, it reads "Jake". I smile instantly, shoving all my bad thoughts into the back of my head as I answered the call.
"Hey, Albert!" Jake said, turning on his facecam. He smiled at me, and I swear my new and improved smile stretched ear to ear.
"Hi!" I responded cheerfully, silently wondering why he was up so late.
"So, I was thinking if you wanted to record a video together?" Jake asked, his brown eyes glittering in the little light he had in his room.
"Yeah! I'd love to! How about one of those scary videos I've been doing recently?" I suggest, picturing us roaming around in scary games and screaming like little girls at every jumpscare and little noise.
"That sounds great! Well, sorry to-"
"ALBERT! GO TO BED! IT'S FUCKING 4:00 A.M!!" Lana interrupted, cutting him off. Jake and I exchange awkward glances.
"Sorry, Albert..." He whispers into the mike. His soft voice soothes me as I began to feel my face heat up. I quickly cover my face, pretending to sneeze as I muffle a "Goodnight" and hang up.
I felt my face. Why am I so red? Ugh, I'm probably just mad at Lana... But his voice.. Mm- WHA- No... We're just friends, nothing more... I say, trying to convince myself I'm not gay... But ever since Lana, I've started feeling odd... Very odd...
