Unwanted Surpise

Jake's POV

Albert and I were finally back home. The sight of the shattered coffee table sent a chill down my spine, the couch no better.
He'll know soon... I thought, recalling what happened back in the hospital.
"Jake?" Albert called behind me, startling me as I cleaned up my living room.
"Oh, hi. Have you settled back in yet?" I ask, continuing to clean up the mess.
"Not yet. I was just thinking about the hospital n' stuff..." He began, "What were you going to tell me?"
"Uhh... I forgot..." I lie, keeping my eyes on my task.
"Oh, Jakeass..." I could almost feel his smile, giving me new energy to finish cleaning. I feel my face heating up.
     "Hey, um... After I'm done cleaning up here, I'm going out to get some food. Want anything?" I speak loud enough for him to hear so I don't have to turn around.
    "Hmm... How ab-" The doorbell rang, cutting off Albert.
    "I'll get it!" I hop to my feet, leaving a few shards of glass on the floor. I slide my way to the door, pulling it open. A lady stood there, a box in her hand. Suddenly my face grew pale.
    "Jake? Do you know where Albert is?" Lana asked, an unreadable expression across her face.
"Albert! I need you to come here..." I shout over my shoulder.
    "Yeees Jake?" I could almost feel the joy drain out of him as he faced his ex.
"Oh my god! Are you okay?" Lana shrieked, noticing the stitches covering my arms.
"Oh yeah, um... I'm fine..." Albert murmurs, avoiding eye contact.
    "Albert... I-I'm sorry..." She sniffled, holding out the box.
    I step to side as Albert takes the box.
    "Simon always liked you more... I thought you might've wanted him back..."
   "Thank you..." He muttered, setting the open box to the side. Lana stepped inside and hugged Albert, sending a pang of jealousy throughout my body.
    "Come back... I love you..." Lana's quiet voice split through the awkward silence. Albert took a step back.
    "No... I can't..." Albert lowered his head, shock almost freezing me.
What is happening?!
