My heart froze. The world around me slipped away leaving me alone with those horrible words swimming in my head.

"I have something that belongs to you." I could hear her cackle, a sick twisted sound. But that was it, nothing else penetrated the rapped beating in my ears. My hands grew clammy. I had to grip the cell tighter so I wouldn't drop it.

"Noh," Aim taunted. "Are you there?" She giggled. I closed my eyes, steading my rapped bursts of breath.

"Aim," my voice cracked taking on a high pitched tone. The psycho laughed again. "Don...don't hurt him."

"How sweet." I heard a thump followed by a moan. "The bond humans share, I'll never understand it." I had to grip the counter in front of me. My legs wanted to give out. "Shall we test that bond." She cackled again.

"What do you what?" My chin trembled slightly. My chest squeezed painfully.

"Well, now, that's a stupid question." Her voice lost the happy tone, dropping into a low cruel voice. There was a moan in the background again this time growing louder. "Noh, what do you think I want?" I could hear Ohm close to the mouth piece. His breathing was broken and faltered every few seconds.

"Noh," he wheezed. "Don't liste—Ahh!" He groaned then went silent. My whole body started shaking and red flashed before my eyes.

"Aim you fucking—"

"Now, now, Noh. Be smart." My eyes gazed around the room, not really seeing anything.

"What do you want?"

"Come to me. Alone." Her voice returned to its sickening song tone. My stomach rolled with disgust.

"Where?" My eyes darted to the door Phun had walked through.

"I'll text you the address. Be smart, Noh. Wouldn't want anything to happen to your dear friend."

And then the phone went silent.

My hand slipped from my ear and dropped to my side. I couldn't breath. A foul taste tainted my tongue as I harshly breathed in. My legs wanted to give out and I half wanted to let them. To drop to the floor and let the fear take over. But I couldn't, Ohm needed me. There was no way I was going to let him down, not when it was my fault he was even there. My fingers curled tighter around the cell phone. I closed my eyes and steadied my breathing. I needed to be strong, to work pass the fear crippling my heart.

"Noh?"

My eyes flew to Phun. He stood in the doorway where Ohm's bedroom was. I didn't even hear him come back in. Worry was etched into his pale face. I stared at him, trying to mask my inner turmoil. I knew I was failing by how his face darkened. I quickly looked away and tried to move from the counter, but my legs wouldn't move. The phone in my hand vibrated. I flinched, my eyes roaming down,

"Noh," he said again, a little harsher this time. I sung my head back to look at him. My eyes blown wide. I've never really been able to hide my feeling. They were always clearly shown on my face. Phun's eyes narrowed. I tried to smile but my lips could only twitch at the corners.

Damn it. I needed to get out of here without Phun following me.

"I'm fine," I lied to his unasked question. "Just worried." I forced myself to look away. How do I escape without him knowing? My eyes darted around me, looking for some kind of answer. They landed on a small pile of empty beer cans. That's when it dawned on me, the perfect lie. Well, at least I hoped it was a good enough lie to fool the vampire. "I'm going to check outside. Ohm most likely drank too much again and passed out." I tried to keep my voice calm as I waved toward the back door.
