Chapter 40

September the year of the fall. I smiled as I breathed in the fresh crisp air. My mother stayed underneath the bunkers and so did the rest of the town. The town has moved fully moved in. Bodies of loved ones keep on appearing and nobody know who has being doing it, not even Xenia. She's been really stressed about lately as well. She feels she can't do anything because she can't pin point it. So after a while the bodies stop appearing since the whole pack has been put on lock down. I sitting next to Zee who was just nervous wreck like we are. He doesn't say much, like always. I sighed as my mother was getting her medicals from the doctors. We waited, since we are in the front of the Underground it was nice to take a rest of the long walk. Zee would be in front of the line when the time comes, and now we have a date of when the war will start and take place.

The beginning of November and the end of October. We don't know what date for that, all we know that is coming around the corner. We have been camping in the Underground for a while, the families are now living for the while. September, the month is worse than I ever know. It's almost been a year since I have known Xenia. Just in a couple months, it would be. I sighed out of nervousness, I didn't want to come; I was in the training room practicing my punches. Sweat drip down my neck as I breathed in heavily. The air is thick and stuffy. I couldn't get grip making me slip. I leaned against the bag, breathing heavily. I sighed as I looked ahead to see the bag only. Just thoughts, all just thoughts.

I stumbled back as I continued my practice, I heard the door open I didn't look just focusing the bag in front of me. I felt someone hand on my hip moving me. "You want to position yourself here, then use all the force here." She patted on my arm and leg. "Ready set go." I struck feeling my body tremble with the force. I was shocked to feel that power.

"Whoa." I breathed out.

She smiled as she patted my shoulder, "Yeah, use part of your wolf strength to use all your body, your gut," She put pressured of my gut, she then put pressure on my shoulders. "Here." Then my hip. "All of your body, use it all. You're going to need it and it is going to need you." She backed away and smiled.

"Thank you," I told her.

She shrugs her shoulders, "You will be needing it. The war is coming up I want everyone to be prepared. I also want you to meet me in the back of the building right now. So change into your wolf." She orders me.

I nod my head as formed to feel my wolf stronger than ever. I walked near her as she opened the door for me. I walked out in front of her, by instinct. She walked to the back with a powerful strut. I huffed as I looked over around to see the other move the side to her. She then stopped at the door turning around. The soldiers of the pack stood against the wall. "Alpha!" They all said in unison with a stomp of their foot.

She put her hand behind her, staring at all of them. She took a breath and smile, "I want everyone to challenge me to their wolf. Knowing the enemy team, they would use weapons and their wolves. Many packs use their wolves more than their human forms! So use your wolf and human for to take me down." She told me. They looked around nervously. "Do not worry, I would forgive you if you do." They seem to relax. She exits the door having the soldiers following right behind her. I followed behind her.

The soldiers formed a circle around her as I stood behind them, sitting and watching. She stretched as she stood still. The air was in tension, I looked at her to see her eyes were black and the soldiers took a step back, no one wants to deal with a serious Alpha. No one would like that. I even did back away, the air became dark. "Xenia." Zee walked over to her smacking her on the head. "Easy, this is not the war. You are scaring them." She growled, but she took a step back. "I would fight you."
