Fade in on Jeremy Manson.

Jeremy Manson: So, Sam…

Zoom out to Jeremy standing in front of three teenagers in chairs. On the far left is his daughter, Sam Manson, (look up on the reverse trio au). Sitting next to her is a black-haired boy and an African-American boy. Danny Fenton, is the black-haired boy (look up on the reverse trio au).  The other boy, Tucker Foley, is wearing a (it's goth Tucker if you seen the show if you haven't seen it don't know why you are reading this and you could easily look it up.) The entire group is sitting in front of a closed yellow-and-black-striped door that seems to be a portal of some kind.

Jeremy: You and your little friends want to hunt ghosts.

Sam Manson: Sorry, dad. I was into ghosts, but they're so mainstream now. They're like cellphones.

Danny Fenton: Uh, actually, I want to be an astronaut.

Tucker Foley: Waste these looks and all this charisma hunting ghosts? Criminal.

Jeremy: Well, if you do want to hunt ghosts, there are a few things you need to learn. (Turns to a table with laboratory equipment and beakers.)

A blue mist suddenly escapes Sam's mouth.

Sam: Uh oh.

Cut to the portal door opening.

Sam (Off-screen) This isn't good.

Two ectopuses escape from the portal. The ghosts grab Danny and Tucker around their mouths and lift them up out of their chairs.

Jeremy: True, I've never seen a ghost, but when I do, I'll be prepared.

Sam looks alarmed. The ectopuses are floating above the floor, Danny and Tucker still in their grasp.

Jeremy: (Off-screen) And so will you. Whether you want to be or not.

Sam gets a determined look on her face. Jeremy is still messing with the various items on the lab table while Sam jumps off-screen, a white light appearing and disappearing before various fighting noises are heard.

Jeremy: (Obliviously:) It all starts with your equipment.

As he says this he holds up a thermos. Behind him an ectopus goes flying past. Danny and Tucker are flung back into their chairs. Jeremy goes over to them.

Jeremy: Danny, Tucker, this is the Manson Thermos.

Jeremy hands the thermos to Danny, and both Danny and Tucker look at it. Jeremy turns back around to the lab table.

Jeremy: It's supposed to trap ghosts (Behind Jeremy another ectopus goes flying past. Jeremy doesn't notice.) but since it doesn't work yet it's just a thermos. A thermos with the word "Manson" in front of it.

The ectopuses look defeated and dizzy and fly back into the portal. Another white light flashes off-screen, then Sam is shown standing where the light came from. The portal suddenly closes and Sam jumps off-screen. Jeremy points at the now-closed portal.

Jeremy: And that? That is the Manson Portal. It releases ghosts into our world whether I want it to or not. And someday, I'll figure out how that (Taps the door.) works too. (Turns around and walks towards a trembling Danny and Tucker, towering over them.) Now, who wants to hunt some ghosts?

Cut to Danny and Tucker trembling and Sam panting and putting a hand on the back of Tucker's chair.

Jeremy: You kids, look at you! You're too excited to speak! So I'll just go on speaking. I was born many years ago (talking about his past). (Danny and Tucker look at Sam who only hangs her head.) (Still talking)
