Jason:

Life is a b!tch. Just when you think you're making progress with the girl you like, some bimbo you'd totally forgotten about shows up. It caught me off guard so much and I honestly didn't know what to do when Jennifer decided to just leave. It would have been stupid for her to just sit around and watch anyway.

I have to admit Lennox was a pretty good kisser. Her kisses were hungry, passionate. I wanted to pull her away. I wanted to jump out of my seat. But then a thought occurred to me. What if seeing me kiss her makes Jennifer jealous, so much so that she finally admits she has feelings for me? It had to be true. Somewhere below her shut off exterior there had to be feelings. There had to be!

I half expected to see Jennifer leap up in defense of whatever feelings were whirring inside of her. I thought maybe she'd slap Lennox, like she'd slapped Jules. Instead she finished her last slice of that horrid pizza and left. I wanted to follow her but Lennox had pinned me to the seat with the iron grip of her thighs. On any other day I would've been so hot for this girl, but that was before I had met Jennifer.

But it was clear to me now she really did just see me as a friend.

So when Lennox asked if we were officially an item, even after just one make out session in a pizza parlor, I said yes. So now I had a girlfriend. Although actually saying the words in my head made me sorta cringe.

I kinda thought that the next time I would be saying that it would be Jennifer.

I lie on my bed facing a mural I painted on my ceiling years ago. It was inspired by starry night, because I liked the idea of having a glimpse at the stars in the comfort of your own bed.

The buzzing of my phone soon drew me from my thoughts. Reluctantly, I turned on my side and reached for the phone which rested on my bedside table. Checking caller ID, I saw the call was from Lennox.

I rolled my eyes before answering.

"Hi baby", she says in a high pitched tone that makes me squint. I see we're already started on the nicknames.

"Hey what's up?"

"Nothing, I just wanted to hear your voice," he pitch never faltered.

"Well you've got what you wanted," I spat bitterly, thinking about how my plan to make Jennifer jealous had completely tanked.

"Babe you sound tense, did I do something wrong?" her concerned tone made me feel kinda guilty for what I was about to do. But my mind was made up. I sat up on my bed and tried to work up the most sympathetic tone I could possibly think of.

This would be a lot easier in person. One look into my eyes and any anger or rage would just melt away, right? Keep telling yourself you're not an egotistical jackass.

"No Lennox. But, there's something I need to tell you," I sighed.

"What is it?" I heard the shifting of what sounded like bed sheets. She must have been sitting up too.

"This relationship is... Oh God why am I doing this?" I murmured the last part but she heard me.

"Are you breaking up with me? For God's sake Jason it's only been like twenty-four hours. That's got to be the shortest relationship ever. Where you going for some Guinness World Record or something?" her rant went on for what felt like forever. I wasn't really listening but it was clear that trying to break up with her now would be a bad idea.
