Chapter 17

Author's POV

"D.....did he come back?"

Ruth asked making the two girls' eyes widen.

Before answering, Amy and Kate looked at each other and then looked at the mobile screen in front of them.

"N...no..." Amy said biting her lips. Kate put her left hand on Amy's right hand comforting her.

They heard Ruth sighing.

"Thats great then! He will not do anything and my babies are safe."

They heard Ruth mumbling those words and crashed their own eyebrows together in confusion.

They looked at each other again and shrugged their shoulders in unison.

Then they talked about this and that. After talking for 1 hour, Ruth finally hung up and two girls heard the door bell ringing.

Amy went to the main door and peeked outside through the little hole on the door.

She saw that Charlie and Kris were there standing.

She quickly opened the door smiling and welcoming them warmly.

The two boys smiled back and entered the house.

"Wow...this house is so neat.....unlike mine." Kris said observing the house properly.

Amy and Charlie just chuckled at Kris' remark.

"Well, you have 3 monsters living with you. How can your house be clean at all?" Charlie said to Kris.

"Huh...so true." Kris agreed while sighing and continuing,"How can those girls be so untidy? I have to do all the works at home."

Charlie patted his right shoulder by saying,"Its ok, bro. They are kids. They are supposed to be like that, anyways."

Kris sighed again and asked,"Is Kate here already?"

Amy nodded her head saying that she is and called Kate out.

Kate came down and they were setting out the living room for watching a movie together.

"What movie you guys want to watch?" Charlie asked the 3 as he was in control of the T.V. remote.

"Umm.....how about "The Notebook"? Kate said and Amy immidiately looked at her giving her a 'look'.

"What?" Kate asked Amy.

"You know what is up." Amy said to her.

Kate just sighed as she knew why Amy gave her the look.

"Someone is missing my brother too much, I see." Amy whispered in Kate's ear making her cheeks go as red as a tomato.

Amy chuckled and helped out Kris as he was in kitchen making snacks for all of them. Kate directly went to living room.

The movie "The Notebook" is actually Mel's favourite movie of all time.

Back in high school, he always used to talk about the movie and his friends always used to tease him for liking a romantic movie.

Mel would just laugh and shrugged about the matter. Out of all his friends, only Kate showed interest in watching the movie.

Not even his other female friends would like to watch the movie.

Only Kate did. And you already can guess the reason.

Amy and Kris went to living room as they already finished making snacks for all of them.

Amy and Kate sat on a couch. Charlie and Kris sat on the other couch.

The friends had a great time watching the movies and had played some games to finish the night.

*Meanwhile*

A middle aged man entered a room full of files and documents. A young man followed suit.

"Son, i want you to cover this up yourself." The middle aged man said to the young man which is supposedly his son.

"But dad, are you sure that you want me to solve it?" The young boy asked his dad.

"Yes, son. I believe you can do it. It is not that big of a problem. If it was, i would not give it to you." The man said and his son just nodded agreeing.

He got out of the room going straight to his bedroom. He twisted the doorknob and entered seeing the room in pitch black darkness.

He knew where the switches were so he lifted his right arm up to switch on the lights. Just when he turned the lights on, he saw a old man's back facing him.

He was standing on one side of the bedside night stand looking outside at the sky through the window.

He looked like to be deep in thought as he did not turn when the young male came in the room.

The young male got frightened widening his eyes but soon realised that it was a familiar back.

He crashed his eyebrows together before saying,"Grandpa.."

With that being said, the old man finally turned around to see his lovely and young grandson to be standing before the door.

With a warm smile, he opened his arms welcoming his grandson in his loving embrace.

His grandson smiled back and throw the papers and document on the bed. He quickly hugged his grandpa while smiling ear to ear.

"How are you, Mel?" Grandpa asked his lovely grandson.

"I am all good, grandpa. How are you?" Mel asked his 70 years old grandpa who looks like he is in his 30's only.

His grandpa also known as Steven Steel wore a silver suit with silver pants along with a matching tie. He looked like he just got his job but he is the founder of their family business, Steel Enterprise.

Though he has this young vibe around him, he is actually 70.

Believe me.

"I am good too. How is business going? I heard that you have come all the way from America just to help you father out. I am really proud of you." Steven Steel said patting Mel's shoulder a bit in proud.

After hearing the word 'Business', Mel's smile faded a little but smiled back forcefully.

"Thank you grandpa.."

"Welcome. How is Amy?"

"She is doing good, now. I call her every now and then. Also she has 3 friends now to look out for her." Mel said as Steven just nodded.

"What about the security?" Steven asked.

"They check on her everyday. I guess she is safe for now..." Mel said.

Steven just sighed and continued by saying,"What did our lil Amy do to deserve this?"

"Do not worry grandpa..she is safe. It will not happen again." Mel said comforting his grandpa.

"I hope so....."
