Your feet pitter pattered across the massive playground like equipment, using walls to hoist you up and to check for any clear path. A couple of times you had met a dead end and nearly got hit by one of Hanzo's fake arrows. At first, he started as though he missed, but each next shot got closer and closer to you. It was the point of he almost got a headshot that you opted to acknowledge to actually get moving. Your breathing labored, and the sky slowly darkened as they welcomed grand thunderclouds. Rain fell from the sky, and somewhat blurring your vision as you slid multiple times on your way there.
You paused on your trek, eyes scanning the area before ducking down behind a log that was tucked away into the mud. An arrow whizzed past above, your eyes closed for a brief moment before you scampered forward and out the other side. A loud bark came from your left, and Hanzo shouted something aloud in his native tongue.
Large blue beings came out of a swirling vortex, scales just as massive as your head and off white eyes boring into you.
His ult, you thought to yourself, time seeming to slow to a stop. Genji made a remark before I had started, asking the dragons to guide me. You mused in your head. Your eyes drifted forward, looking at the grand open space that would lead to your demise if you continued that way. Time started to seemingly speed up, body swerving and using the mud to slide like you were on ice and you jumped up, flipping forward and over a long twisting dragon. You needed to follow the ult and to the grand equipment beyond the reach to rebound back.
Your figure remained low, hearing Hanzo follow after you as the careless sloshing of mud resounded behind you.
"Why do you run from your opponent?" Hanzo called out to you, the distant hissing of blades from one of the cameras being heard as it panned from the side.
"I do not run, I simply focus on my goal, not my distractions," you called back over your shoulder, running up a set of stairs and body slamming into the side guards. You groaned slightly, using your unbalanced figure to launch you up the stairs and down a slope. You hit your side on the way down, legs flailing and narrowly dodging an arrow aimed straight at the center of your chest. Pushing yourself up was hard, especially since you were finding it hard to breathe in the stench of the mud and rain. Lighting flickered through the clouds, and thunder rolled after it.
An arrow struck your calf, your teeth clenching as it crackled and flared your nerves as though it created an illusion of being hit. This spurred you on, getting up and making a mad dash for the far end of the field. Your running sessions with Jack will certainly pay off in the end. Your senses roared, eyes casting a glance behind you. Time slowed down once again, and it felt like you were right beside him.
You could see the tendons twitch as he pulled his bow string back, his muscles growing taut and his broad chest expanding as he inhaled. A momentary breath that would halt as soon as it begun. Time flew forward, you body dropping down and sliding across the mud as the arrow immediately whizzed right by where you would have originally been. The box was so close, yet so far out of reach. Hanzo prowled forward, coming closer as you attempted to get up each and every single time. Those attempts caused you to collapse right back down, and you made a face as your opponent loomed over you with an arrow drawn and pulled back.
Your eyes were wide, staring him down and finding yourself sweating nervously.
"Give in," he ordered a bit bitterly, his teeth clenched.
"Why should I?" You snapped right back. Your eyes searched his own, finding your stare softening in the moment. "I've lost my forearms, I've been robbed of a normal childhood... Doesn't that make us the same?"
"You know nothing of me."
"I know enough!" Your anger flared up; this was the fight you could win. You needed him to bite the bait and he did. "You killed your own brother because you felt like he betrayed your own clan!"
In the living room, Jack felt Angela glance over him. His gaze kept focused on the large screen, his jaw clenching below his mask. This was the ability he was able to see firsthand. He experienced it once- but he was glad he could see it from the outside. His head tilted, the team now fully interested in your words. The camera was close, zoomed in on your face. It was clear you were afraid, but you kept with it.
Hanzo felt liked he was immediately taken back several notches. His eyes searched you. No one else knew his reason as to why he did that to Genji. Had Genji told her? No- Genji stated he forgave him and that was the sincerity in his voice. Hanzo knew, so how did you get the details? The facts? As Hanzo searched his mind, your body spun and kicked him down, his body face planted right into the mud and you kicked the box over and open. The contents spilled out, body rolling over and looking at what appeared.
Your arms.
You immediately attached the objects, metal clicking and you turned around and met the tip of an arrow to the nose. The bow was drawn back, his eyes boring into yours.
"How did you know of that?" He asked softly, though the seething venom was there on his voice.
Your lips pursed, fingers twitching at your sides and clenching into a fist. "The way you carry yourself, and present your whole self," you begun softly. "To calm your inner guilt and demons, you meditate and ask for guidance to make sure that nothing like your doing to your brother happens again."
He slowly lowered his weapon.
"You've come to terms with your wrong doings. In hopes to right them, you fight the men who destroyed the reputation of the Shimada clan," your eyes searched his face, finding his gaze avoiding yours. "And you have. Genji has forgiven you." Your robotic hand lightly settled on his bicep. Slowly, a smile formed on your lips and he carefully enveloped you into a hug. His head settled on your smaller shoulder.
It was only then he murmured to you, "Welcome to Overwatch."
