February 14th,

They call it the Valentine's day. A day people around the world go crazy but with an alibi. A day flower shops' sales go through the roof, restaurants are fully booked and chocolate is on high demand (not forgetting ice-cream for the lonely).

I know it may come as a surprise, but this day is just like any other ordinary boring day for me. Yes, I am a sixteen year-old girl, five-foot four, thick raven hair, always dressed in black. I have ears and nose piercings, I like to keep to myself and I ride a bike to school.

Wait, before you say anything, I know what you are thinking, like; yeah, she is 'that' girl. You know, the black-sheep. The metal-head-punk-wanna be who thinks the whole world misunderstands her, enjoys night walks at the cemetery and really wishes to fall in love with a vampire someday and spend eternity hunting and watching stars at the cemetery with him.

Well, sorry to disappoint you there, but no, I am not 'that' girl.

My hair is black due to my Armenian ancestry...please ask no more. I always wear black partly because I am color blind and partly because I have no sense of fashion whatsoever. I ride a bike to school because I hate the bus more than I hate my mom driving me to school. And the piercings...I have no explanation for that.

Anyways, February 14th Valentine 's Day, the first weird thing I noticed as I walked into Foxbridge High (apart from Megan Reed's shorts that were shrinking by the minute!) was that there was a card and a rose stuck on my locker.

My locker!

Okay, I might have understated the fact that I'm anti-social because my circle consists of the janitor—don't ask why, the sweet lunch lady, my French and Chemistry teachers (occasionally when they ask me to answer questions in class). Oh, and Milky, the kid with alopecia universalis that everybody is scared of.

So now you can understand why I was shocked to see that card on my locker.

I quickly walked over and snatched it off before anybody could see it and I opened it, it read:

"I wished on a shooting star, on a night so cold,

then something magical happened, you walked into my world..."

PS; You look adorable when you're shocked.

I gazed around the hallway, nobody even glanced my way. I was invisible as always. It bothered me that some idiot was out there playing a joke on me while secretly staring at me from a distance and I had no clue who it was. I tucked the card in my bag and threw the rose in bin nearby. Anyways, joke time was over, the bell for the first period rang.

Chaos on the hall started as kids hurried to class. I usually waited for the place to cool down a bit before I made my way to class. That was when I saw a boy oddly standing on a bench at the end of the hall.

Man, that kid was looking for trouble 'cause if Principle Skinner saw him, he'd be doing detention for the rest of the week. The boy did not seem to mind, he was busy staring at the crowd searching for someone.

Curious as I was, I just kept looking at him while I made my way through the crowd, for a moment, our eyes met and I saw the look of surprise when he noticed me. His eyes though....

"Shit!" I cursed after some idiot shoved me and I dropped my books on the floor. By the time I finished picking them, the hall was empty and the boy was gone.
