Prologue

I raise my hands, my eyes narrowing on my pursuer, and betrayal buzzes through my every nerve. The gun in his hand is raised and pointed in my direction... And he never misses.

"Are you going to shoot me?" I ask, not knowing if he has the guts.

"Don't I have enough reasons to?" He asks, a smile spreading over his lips and the betrayal I feel is mixed with adrenaline and anger... How dare he? I am Alice!

"Would you really risk shooting me? After all, isn't the game to kill the white rabbit?" I taunt, the betrayal I feel under toned in my voice. He just gives me a smile that shows no remorse or regret.

"Perhaps... But this isn't for the game... This is for me." He says, and I lower my hands, taking a step closer, calling his bluff.

"Oh? And what have I done to you?" I ask and a look of surprise washes over his features, but goes back to a big smile seconds after.

"You haven't done a thing to me, my dear Alice... But the previous Alice did... And I'm afraid now you'll pay for his crimes to me." He taunts and I shake my head.

"You wouldn't kill me... Would you?" I ask, my voice stronger than how I feel, and my entire being flushes with fear as I see him stop smiling.

"I don't know... But we'll find out won't we?" He taunts, looking off to the side, his gun still pointed at me...

... And he pulls the trigger.
