Chapter 3: Champion city

Walking into Chamption city, Amy had somehow managed to mount the llama's back without it bucking her and was lying down face first, screaming incoherent gibberish.

Her eyes sparkled as she looked up to see the massive soaring buildings of quartz and panes. "Woaaaaaah.... Cooooooool!"

"Yep. This is it; Champion city" Petra announced with a tone of fake grandeur.

Jesse gave a forced laugh. "If it's really Champion City then where are all the champions, huh? More like... Llama city!" He looked at the singular llama shaped structure, citing it as his evidence. Petra gave him an unimpressed glance and Amy hid her face in secondhand embarrassment.

The Llama struggled more as they walked further in, and Amy gave her a worried look. "What's wrong, lil llama?" earning a morose bleat in response.

"It's like even she doesn't wanna see Stella. Kinda know how she feels. I just... Really need this to go well" Petra complained, crossing her arms and glancing to the side.

Jesse patted her shoulder. "Look, it will. I'm here, we'll take care of this no problem"

She smiled before rubbing her eyes. "Sure hope you're right. At any rate, Stella usually has her 'office hours'" she made air quotation marks "In the center of the courtyard just a few paces behind the door ahead"

Jesse put his hands on his hips. "Well i hope she's ready for an 'appointment' with Jesse and Petra"

Amy punched him in the arm. "And Amy!" Rubbing his arm with a low whine he meekly nodded, resisting the urge to throttle her.

Walking through the gate dividing the court from the front of the city, Jesse was hit by multitudinous voices of a variety of tones and inflections all bombastically assulting his ears. He groaned at the sound difference and covered his ears until the crowd had quieted slightly. Then he heard a rather sharp voice ringing through the air, slick like honey but rough like thorns.

"Yes, that's right, puppies for everyone! No shoving now, we're not beacontowners!~"

Jesse frowned at the comment while Amy just seemed too occupied with climbing him like a jungle gym. Petra sent Jesse an apologetic glance. "You've likely peiced this together but she's pretty fond of herself, i'd play to her ego"

Nodding shortly and giving Amy a blank look as she sat on his shoulders and announced 'to narnia!' he shoved his way through the crowd, llama by his side and Petra not too far behind.

Stella turned and, at the sight of her llama, instantly lost her sunny disposition to be replaced by an icy stare. "Oh Lluna darling, you came home! You came BACK!" the last word was spoken threateningly, and Amy frowned slightly.

Stella turned to one of her large bodyguards and made a 'go' motion. "Oh Rodrigo, could take Lluna home for me please?"

With a slight nod, Rodrigo took the scared animal by the neck and pulled it along. Amy made a low whining noise and Jesse absentmindedly noogied her, sad as he saw the llama give him a frightened look as she was dragged off.

Stella looked after her leaving animal with a stern expression "There's a good girl"

"Stella." Jesse stated, stepping forward. Stella blinked before letting out a haughty laugh. "Ohh, look who it is! Jesse, leader of Beacontown! And my sworn rival!"

While Jesse muttered to Petra in confusion, Amy jumped off of his shoulders with a massive pout. "If he's your rival and i live with him does that make me your rival? Cuz i wanna live here" she stated, unhappy. Stella blinked. "Erm, if you want to live here you can, I'll just need something in return"
