We never wanted this.

Asahi was walking to school. Or, more like running through the streets of Paris with the bright sun of March beating down on him. Yes, Asahi was late for school, again. He sleeps in way too often in his cozy bed. He had barely said goodbye to his parents before bolting out the door. Luckily, his school was within walking distance so he won't be as late to school as he could have been.

Blood, death, hiding. It's too much.

Adrienne is being driven to school in a limousine with her bag in hand. Many times before, she would lean her head against the cool glass of the window and see Paris speed by, but not today. She was dreading getting out of the car to go to school. She felt isolated everywhere she went. Not because of who she is, but of who her mother is. Her mother was a famous model. Due to the secondhand fame, Adri was placed on a pedestal that she didn't want to be on.

We must kill in order to survive

Zola waited by the doors of the Parisian school, her foot tapping on the concrete. SHe was waiting for Asahi, Adrienne, and her boyfriend, Cristiano. She tends to forget that Cristiano and Asahi are late more often than not, most likely sleeping through their alarms. But she could not figure out why Adri was late. A chime from her phone pulled her back into reality. She turns it on to see that it was from Adri telling her she was going to be late. With an internal sigh, Zola turns to the doors and walks.

We can no longer live with others

Kieran's chauffeur drops him off outside the school gates.  Being the son of the mayor has its perks, including many handouts from important people. He uses this power to make people like him, especially his peers at school. Why should it matter that he hurt their feelings? If he didn't no one would talk to him, especially his friend, Adrienne. As they pull in, he sees that there were people crowding around the common yard. He shoved past everyone as he gets inside, smiling as they scurry out of the way.

What did we do to deserve this?

Cristiano waits at the Paris train station. His hand fidgets around his phone, anticipating a text from her. Apparently, someone in his family was coming to live with them. All he knew of her was her name and that she was from the United States, that was it. No picture or any other information. Ten minutes and multiple worried texts from Zola later, a train from Cael pulled into the station. Perfect timing.

What have you done to us?

Ayita arrives at the train station. Her flight from New York to Caen was long and exhausting, the train ride only adding to that exhaustion. After her father died and never knowing her mother, she was left to her own devices at fourteen. Being ignored and alone back in New York did not prepare for the letter she received from her father's sister in Paris asking her to move in two years later. Everything was already paid for and all she needed to do was accept.  Hence, the train and plane. Once she stepped off, a boy her age with glasses was holding a sign with her name on it. Trying to hide a smile, she believes she has finally found a place.

We are Monsters.
