every day during second period science
you would walk in late
carrying your scooter in one hand
and a seven eleven bag full
of monster and red bull energy drinks
and your choice of candy,
mainly being jolly ranchers.
it’s like you couldn’t get
through the school day
without drinking energy drinks,
fore there was one in your hand
every class period,
including lunch and after school.
tristan, callie, and i would mock you
laughing at your sugar highs,
constantly saying how one
day your energy drink
addiction would eventually
turn you belly up.
when i think of it now,
goose bumps appear
across my arms sending shivers
down my spine,
oh how i wish we never
joked about you
dying.
