Still kinda shocked at how fast we got here and at Ryan's awesome driving skills. I'm guessing we broke at least three laws in the short seven minute drive but who's complaining? Not me that's for sure.
"Everytime I call on you
I drop what I do
You are my best friend and we've got some sh-"
"Hello?" I say, interrupting the ringtone. It's cheesy, I know. But that's exactly what Violet is.
"Where the heck are you?!" she shrieks through the phone.
"School. Where else?" Someone sure woke up on the wrong side of the bed. My eardrums can't handle her voice this early in the morning.
"Everyone's been so worried about you! I called your mom but she said you went out. And she called me at two in the morning saying you weren't home yet." Shoot. I totally forgot to tell my mom. " And then I called Lucas to ask if you were at his but you weren't! And this morning I even came to school early because I thought you would be there! But were you? NO!"
"Look Violet I can explain." I countered, cutting off her rant.
"Oh, really. How do you explain Oh I left without telling anyone where I went and they were all super worried about me but you know I didn't pick up any of their calls and I didn't return home either. Yeah. Let's see you explain your way out of that one." I can practically hear her sneer through the phone as she says this.
The bell rings, snapping me out of my guilt session. So much for Ryan's Hail Mary drive. Looks like I'm gonna be late anyway. Speaking of which, where was Ryan anyways? I swear I turned around for one second and he was gone when I looked back.
I sweep my surroundings for him real quick before going back to my phone call.
"Emily! You better not hang up on me!" she screams as I bring the phone up to my ear. I quickly hold it an arm's length away. Patiently, I count to ten knowing she'll be cooled off by then.
"The bell just rang talk to you in first okay?"
Violet cackles and I gulp. "I'm gonna hold you to that. Today is gonna be a pain for you."
I roll my eyes at her inner witch before hanging up. Checking the time again, I realize that I'm now two minutes late. I sigh before trudging my way to first period.

Another folded piece of paper lands on my desk, joining the hundreds of others. At this point, my desk is overflowing with the notes and I'm surprised Lucas and Violet still have any paper left. And has Mr. Colby hasn't noticed. Then again, I'm pretty sure he's blind.
My friends have spent the past forty minutes throwing notes of their disappointment at me. At first, I responded by writing my own notes and saying how sorry I was. After a while, I gave up. Too bad I was also sandwiched right in between the two of them. FAT LADY JUST SING ALREADY.
As if on cue the bell rings and I shoot out of my seat. I start heading outside to escape this papery nightmare that is my besties. Sadly, hands wrap around my wrists as I'm dragged down the halls.
I look up to see two furious pairs of eyes glaring down me. They have a right to be angry but aren't they going a little bit overboard?
Lucas glances down at me before looking back up. "We're skipping." Skipping? But what about my perfect attendance of every class ever? Hopefully, Violet disagrees with this terrible idea. Surely she will see that that is CLEARLY unnecessary. Fingers crossed...
