Rain beats against the car window, as i stare out of it, with an emotionless expression on my face, revealing nothing but emptiness.
Sitting here for three hours or more, made me realize how the world always has a way to piss you off, leaving nothing but a confused mind and a load of frustration.
"Honey we're almost there" gramps said. "ok. grandma" i replied and took my bag over my shoulder.
The car stopped in front of a big house surrounded by a long, white, concrete like fence. grandpa got out and went to the back of the car to open the trunk, while gramps went to the house door to greet my dad and his wife.
"well guess it's really happening Leo?" said my older sister Poppy. "yeah... i guess... it's happening" i replied. "you ready?" poppy said. "are you?" i replied. "nah... but we gotta go" poppy said and got out of the car, following me after"
walking up to dad, triggered many emotions at a time, but the main feeling being sadness. every step i took felt like i was walking on swamp mud, sinking down every step i take, making it harder to walk.
I didn't want to leave my grandparents, not at all. But guess they can't always be there, as they're getting older and weaker.
"cheer up Leo!" poppy said and gently pushed me with her shoulder. "sorry..." i replied and gave her a forced smile. "Hey i know it ain't easy, but this is our life now" she said and looked me in the eye. "i know Pop, it's just hard you know" i said. "Hey, i'll always be by your side" she said and tilted her head to my shoulder. "Thanks Pop" i said and tilted my head on hers."Hey guys! wow you're all grown up since i last saw you" Dad said. "Yeah, how long have it been 6-7 years who knows times fly" Poppy said in a irritated, cocky voice. She can be a bitch when you get to her, but I just think it's a reflex from when she feels I'm hurting in some kind of a way. Poppy has always been protective since i was little, always trying to pick a fight with all my bullies and usually scaring them away. Always showed me comfort when mom and were fighting.
Yeah i was a crybaby when i was little, a big crybaby. but she was always there so i'd never felt lonely but loved at most times.
"Poppy!" Grandma said and looked at her with a behave young lady face. "Sorry" Poppy said. "It's fine, i was the one who dragged them all the way here, which reminds me that your rooms actually just been renovated, you can go look if you want to?" Dad said with a big smile. "Oh, how lovely Jude. Kids go, take look" grandma said. "ok, come Leo" Poppy said. "Great! Nina can you go and show the kids their rooms" Dad said. "Of course honey" Nina said and gave him a kiss on the cheek.walking in to the house was like walking through a portal, it was big outside and even bigger inside. It was very modern looking inside, it all looked expensive, but yeah guess a businessman and woman can get a big load of income in every month.
"So, Poppy if you go up the stairs and turn left you should find a door with you name on it" Nina said. "Thanks ma'am" poppy said. "Oh, please call me Nina" Nina said. "got it" Poppy said. " And Leo if you turn right you should find your room" Nina said. "Thanks" i said. "you're welcome" Nina said and walked out to help with bagage.
walking down the hall, slowly getting closer to the darkwood door with a note on it saying Leo My Son.I'd open the door, the room was huge, you can feel that dad trying to make things right with us again, but i can't, not now maybe in the future, but not now. I placed my bag on the bed and went to look outside the window.
You could see the neighborhood, and it looked like only rich people live here. well guess i won't be fitting so well in, but when do i do that. I could have told it myself.i opened the window to let some fresh air in, and then i saw this guy driving a harley, he parked just outside the neighbors house and took his helmet off.
and boy hit me with a truck, that guy was handsome to the next level of another world. And he drives a harley! a damn harley are you kidding me. well some people are born lucky. As i continue starring at him, my neighbors garage door opens and a Tesla comes out. as i said... rich people. and then they drove off. Guess people around here like high branded stuff.
"Knock knock, can i come in?" Dad asked. "yeah" i replied. "here's your stuff, so... do you like it?" Dad said. "Thanks, yeah it's... it's lovely" i replied. "Great! so i will let you unpack and don't stay up too late school starts tomorrow" Dad said and smiled. "Yes sir" i replied. And he left. You can tell he's trying hard to make it right again. Sorry dad but the wound is still as fresh as it was 7 years ago.
