You battled to open your eyes, hoping the light beaming from the corner of the windows would just go away. But you slowly sat up looking to your surroundings. What happened last night was no dream. It had happened.
You looked next to your bed and found that Ray was no longer there, but instead his figure was replaced with a note and flower attached once again. This time you chose not to ignore it.
You slowly removed the flower, carefully making sure you wouldn't damage the blooming red rose and the letter."I had to get up early and take care of some work, there are some clothes waiting for you in the bathroom if you'd like to change, I wouldn't want you to wear the same clothes from last night. I'll make sure to visit you later, I'm sure you'll be on my mind all day, but you need to get some rest. I love you (your name), please wait for me.
-Ray"
You couldn't help but smile softly at his words but your expression was more pained. You didn't think this is how things would turn out. You wanted to escape but after the way Ray talked about your life he promised to care for and protect you. His words lingered into your thoughts. The pain resurfacing.
How was it that he was able to find and mend such a horrible wound you had been desperately hiding and trying to heal on your own? You wanted to see him again, only this time you wanted to hold his hand and listen to him repeat those words again and again.
You took the rose and headed to the bathroom where the room had marble flooring and a white porcelain tub. A basket full of soaps and lotions sat next to a pink fluffy towel and a pair of folded maroon clothing.
Walking towards the basket you brought the lovely scents to your nose. Some smelled of roses and others of vanilla. You couldn't decide which one to use but eventually chose the rose scented soaps and brought them next to the tub, filling it with warm water.
Sitting patiently you held the rose to your chest. You didnt know if you were safe yet, Ray promised you were, but the feeling of your disappearance outside of the world that Ray brought you in returned. What was everyone doing? Would they notice? Did they call the Police?...my parents?
You ripped off the head of the rose and scattered the petals onto the tub, hoping it would distract and change your mood. Taking off each layer of clothing you entered the tub and rested your head against it.
Ray wouldn't hurt you, he never made it out that way. He had always been so gentle towards you, always so caring. The night you spent with him felt like no mistake but both your heart and mind kept fighting for dominance.
Your true fear was that Ray got what he wanted and now all he has to do was get rid of you, that time is bound to happen any minute now, but part of you believes, again that the night you spent with him was no mistake, even if the words he had said to you could've been a complete act.
You sank deeper into the tub and closed your eyes, letting the warm water completely take over you. The loud noise of the water drowned your thoughts and all you could do was let the warmth of it hold you.
You weren't sure how long you spent in the underwater but suddenly you felt your body being pulled to the surface. You couldn't help coughing and attempting to fill your lungs with air again.
Your eyes shot open and you looked around your surroundings and found no one in the room. You turned to look out the window next to the tub. No one. It was likely just your body pulling yourself up by instinct.
Looks like you crossed out that option.

Finishing up your bath you dried yourself off and proceeded to get dressed into a pair of lacy maroon garments and matching night dress.
