"Come on! 24,000 restaurants, guys! 24,000! In New York alone!" Steve said passionately. "We'll be missing out on so many places if we never branch out!". It was just after a mission, all the assembled avengers had gathered in the spacious lounge. It had been Tony's idea to go out to eat in celebration. Of course, he had known exactly where he wanted to go.
"Yeah, because nothing says let's celebrate like going to some cheap place with termites to eat chemicals. No thanks, Cap. I'd rather stick to the places I know will be great." Tony pronounced , taking a sip of water. Steve rolled his eyes, "Shaking up your routine can be good for you. At the very least, it can't hurt. I found this lovely looking place downtown. They serve Indian food there. I thought it would be cool to try it." he said, pulling up a website.
"I don't know..." Bruce started, shifting his weight on the couch. "It was a stressful day, maybe a more low key night is better? Besides, we all like that burger place, right? It's probably best to..." he trailed off. He didn't to break his routine and go someplace new. Actually, he didn't want to go out at all. He had work to do. Work that didn't involve becoming a monster or celebrating a simple mission. Going someplace, especially someplace new, didn't sound at all appealing.
"Come on, Bruce. It sounds fun." Natasha joined in. Steve smiled at finally having a supporter. She continued, "I'm sick of all the gross fast food poison you guys seem to love so much. Indian sounds good.". She got up off the couch to look at the website Steve had brought up. Clint followed her skeptically.
"Actually, it doesn't look terrible." Clint said, scrolling down. "It might actually be a good idea." Steve smiled and looked to Rhodes, the only one yet to give their opinion. He looked torn.
"Well, burgers are great..." Tony smiled and Bruce sat down, relieved. "But... but I think it's good to switch things up a bit. Who knows? We might love it." he looked to Tony as he said this, smirking to himself as he saw his smile drop. "I'm not saying I want to go to a different place all the time, but what's the worst that could happen?" he finished. Steve looked again to Bruce. Sighing loudly, Bruce said, "Ok, ok, I give in. Trying new places could possibly, maybe be a semi-good idea that I'd enjoy. Maybe.".
Steve smiled,"See Tony!". Who in turn rolled his eyes. "Fine, but if this place ends up being a dump, all of you have to admit I was right and you were wrong." he declared loudly. "That's the spirit Tony!" Rhodes teased. They all quickly got their stuff together to leave. "Coulda just gone with burgers... but nope, had to be all interesting and try a new place." Tony grumbled.

"Wow, this is actually really good." Bruce said, stuffing his mouth with his idli. Tony was enjoying his meal of pani puri as well, but not enough to admit it to Steve. Nat said, " huh, who new an old man could have such good taste!".
The restaurant was beautiful to say the least. It had delicate lights that dangled from the ceiling in fluorescent colors. At the right angle, they looked like they were floating. The Indian style architecture was very elegant. The walls were bright, but not blinding yellows, pinks and creams. The whole place had a welcoming atmosphere. The waiters were very sweet. Even Natasha felt comfortable.
The food was beyond words. They barely talked at all, they were to busy stuffing their faces.
"I may be willing to try something like this again." Clint said, loosening his belt. Steve smiled. He had loved the meal, and he adored the new experience. "Nice, I was doing some research earlier on some good looking places I thought you guys would like. If you guys want to, anyway." Steve implored. Unsurprisingly, everyone but Tony agreed. "Sure, we liked this place, but I'm not sold on making this a ever time thing." he said. Steve smiled slightly, "Oh, come on, let's just try this one other place...".
Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed! I really enjoyed writing about this! I think Steve would love trying new places with the other avengers he couldn't try in the 1940's. Stay tuned for more!
