Upsetting a woman is one thing, but making a woman angry is another thing entirely, and my younger sister was definitely the latter. Olivia Reynolds is tall, close to my height, but I still have a few inches on her. Her hair is dirty blonde, darker than mine, but my eyes, a chocolatey brown, are darker than hers, which are hazel-colored. Today she is wearing a speckled pair of tortoiseshell glasses and a frown, her eyebrows arched in annoyance.

"You forgot, didn't you?" She says accusingly.

"Well, I-" I start, but she cuts me off abruptly, clearly not done with her tirade.

"I emailed you months in advance, and then I drove nearly four hours to get here and then I was left waiting for another two. I still haven't brought my bags up either, and I haven't had anything to eat since this afternoon. I'm tired, I'm hungry, and I'm in desperate need of a shower and clean clothes, and if you would have been here-" It's my turn to cut her off.

"I fractured my wrist, and then I ran out of aspirin and had to go out and pick up some more; figured I'd do some food-shopping while I was at it. By the time I finished my car wouldn't start. I got it back on the road eventually, but much later than I anticipated. Yes, I may have forgotten you were coming, and I'm really sorry you had to wait so long but is this really something a shower and a few brownies can't fix?" I say with a shy grin, holding up the bags filled with food lining my good arm.

"Brownies sound really good right about now," Olivia says after a moment, her face softening, all of her anger slowly depleting. I fish my keys out of my pocket and open up the apartment door. I set all of the bags down in the kitchen before directing my sister to the bathroom.

"Hey, Olive, I'm going to go grab your bags, where are your keys?" I ask. She searches her pockets for them and finally produces them after a moment. After I carry her bags up to the apartment I set them down in my room. I decide that she can sleep in my bedroom for the time being and I can man the couch. I grab a few pillows and a blanket before setting them down on one of the worn leather couches where I'll be sleeping the next few days. With our sleeping arrangements figured out, I start putting away the groceries, albeit the brownie mix. After everything is put away I start preparing the brownie batter. I had no idea how much I had relied on both of my hands, and I struggle through each task. Olivia finally emerges from the bathroom as I slip on a pair of oven mitts and pull the steaming tray of brownies out of the oven, setting them atop of it to cool shakily.

"Mmm." She murmurs, letting out a sigh of content as the sweet, chocolatey aroma fills the room. I slip off my oven mitts carefully and set them to the side.

"You still mad at me?" I ask, a grin playing on my lips.

"Less so as of now, but you'd better feed me soon or I might change my mind," Olivia replies with a smirk.

"The brownies should be cool enough to eat in a few minutes," I say, shaking my head.

"So where's that girlfriend of yours?" Olivia teases. My face falls at the mention of Delilah, my grin dissipating in an instant. I haven't spoken to any of my family since I left, and that was months ago. None of them are aware of Delilah's absence. Olivia's sudden appearance was a huge surprise. Olivia seems to notice my change in demeanor. "Aw, Wyatt...What happened?" Olivia asks sympathetically.

"She left, Olive. She's...Gone." I say numbly.

"She left you? After you followed her all the way out here? What a...What a bitch! Who does that to a person?!" Olivia seethes in disbelief.

"I don't know O, maybe I deserved it..." I reply quietly.

"How could you have deserved it?" Olivia inquires with a frown.
