(A/N) - hey guys just a quick thing before this chapter, this is a flashback so they are in 6th grade right now which kind of explains how they act. ok I hope you like it :-)

"Hope if you sing in this video we will definitely get over 20 views." My bestfriend Annabelle Owens said for what felt like the thousandth time that day.
Anna and I had always been best friends. I can't remember a time when we didn't know each other.
I had heard stories about us meeting in ballet class as 3 year olds but all I know is that we have been friends for as long as I can remember.
Sure we had our fights but we kept each other grounded.
She had almost bleach blonde hair that she had never dyed in her life. Everyone thought she lied about that because her hair was too perfect to not be fake, but if you look at her family they all have it too. Back then it was long and wavy and she always wore it down.
She was the girl that everyone wanted to look like. Although she was beautiful, she wasn't very popular. I blamed me and our best friend Ashton Irwin for that.
We were too weird to be popular.
We didn't care though. We had each other and that was all we needed. Sometimes people made fun of one of us but the others were always there to stand up for them.
"I've told you over and over, I'm not going to sing. I'm no good and I don't want people to hear me. It's too scary." I said.
That was the day that started everything. Anna and I had been arguing over our failure of a youtube channel that we had together.
I had been told at the young age of 5 that I had the "voice of an angel" but I honestly didn't think so.
I took choir all through middle school and never got any of the main solos. Those were given to the girls who could, as I like to say, "scream sing". I always got a smaller solo that no one really cared about.
"God you are so ANNOYING." Anna screeched, turning her back on me.
"Fine if I'm so annoying, then I'll just go home and start my own youtube channel without you. You're videos were crap anyways." I replied trying to stay calm.
I walked across the room and threw the creaky wooden door open to catch a glimpse of blonde hair dart behind the door frame and out of sight.
I froze. Someone was listening to us and I didn't want to get in trouble for saying crap.
"Hello?" I called softly. The hair reappeared along with the person who it belonged to.
The first thing I noticed about him were his eyes. They were a brilliant, icy blue color that demanded your immediate attention.
He had pink lips that drew up into a shy smile revealing the shadow of a dimple on the right side of his mouth.
"Luke? Why are you here? Is Aunt Liz here too?" Anna chimed in from behind me.
The boy, apparently Luke, turned at the sound of her voice. I saw tears beginning to form in the blue eyes that had quickly become my favorite feature of his.
I had a faint urge to wrap my arms around him, this boy who I had never met, at the sight of him on the verge of a breakdown.
He rose to his full height which was impressive for a boy his age, and quickly disappeared down the hallway.
I heard a door slam shut and Luke was gone.
Uuuuhhhh what?
I looked to Anna for answers but she stared back at me with the same confused expression I assumed that I wore.
She stood up and I followed her down the hallway to the kitchen where we would hopefully find her parents and answers.
When we reached the open doorway that lead into the kitchen Anna stopped abruptly causing me to run into her and nearly fall over.
I almost started yelling at her but stopped myself when I saw that she had good reason to have frozen like she did.
Her mother was in the kitchen, sobs that shook her body ran through her as she held on to Anna's dad like she couldn't hold her own weight anymore. Her dad was holding her mom but he was staring off into the distance as he tried to comfort her. They both looked like they could fall apart at any moment and were counting on each other to hold their pieces together.
Mrs. Owens was the first to notice the two frightened girls in the door way. She wiped her eyes and straightened herself up.
"Hope honey I'm sorry but do you think you could-" she was interrupted by a sniffle " head on home now?"
I quickly nodded and gave Anna's hand a reassuring squeeze before heading out the front door.
As I began walking down the road home I let my thoughts consume me.
I had never seen Anna's mother any where near crying. She was one of the strongest people I had ever met and I was horrified as I thought of what could make someone so strong seem so venerable.
When I finally made it home I walked up the stairs straight up to my room. I knew my parents wouldn't be home yet but my older brother Harry was probably in his room. He was 3 years older than me and normally "watched" me when our parents were at work.
He was a good brother and we were really close, I just didn't like the thought of him practically babysitting me.
I turned some music on and threw myself onto my bed to let myself process the days events. The only thing I figured out was that Luke was Anna's cousin before I fell asleep.
