Chapter 9
Seth examined through another library book about different types of myths and found nothing connecting to a 'live Lake'. "There's nothing, Echo." Seth shook his head, on the brink of giving up.
"Maybe it's not in a book" Echo considered. "We just have to think. When did those two girls die?"
"June seventeenth nineteen ninety one. Why?"
Echo stopped looking through her book. "Oh my god." She whispered.
Seth looked up at her.
"What?" he inquired.
"That's the day I was in that Lake." Seth's eyes widened.
"That's impossible" he breathed. Echo raised a brow.
"Why would it be crazy? Everything fits except for one thing. Who's killing . . . who's trying to kill us?"
"Us?" Seth asked warily. Echo nodded.
"I can't really say me in general. It may try again on another person" Echo waved her hand.
"It?" he asked. Echo watched him impatiently.
"The Lake" she answered. "It just . . . it still doesn't make sense!" she said aggravatingly.
"Ok. Hold up" Seth watched as Echo stopped her pacing to look at him. "If this Lake is really killing people . . . why is it people who own that house. Your house?" he asked. Echo shrugged.
"I don't understand it either." She collapsed in a chair and groaned. "This is so very complicated."
"Not if we think it through" Seth rubbed her back soothingly. "C'mon we've got work to do."
