A month has passed, he had a small apartment complex thanks to the money he received from selling his apartment back in D.C. The apartment he was in now wasn't the best, then again he didn't care. He had only one objective for now, and that is finding the bastard terrorist who killed his dad.

Stiles was out on his daily runs in early morning, making sure to stay away from forest areas; incase Derek tries to confront him. After what was an hour or so run around the town, he made his way to get some breakfast at a cafè; he wore a black thermal short sleeve top and black shorts with white strips running down the side.
He ordered himself a cup of black coffee; as he ordered he noticed a lot of the female staff were eyeing him. Pre-teen Stiles would have gone crazy by the attention, but current Stiles was not interested in any kind of company. He was utterly detached from the world that he didn't feel the need of companionship.
The woman gave him his coffee as she touch his bicep, in an attempt to flirt, he just stared at her blankly and grabbed his wallet to pay. As he did so a guy with a gun walked in and shot some rounds to the roof.
Snapping into action he made a plan out in his head, the person ordered everyone to get on the floor but Stiles stood where he was and paid. He left a tip and reached his hand to his hot coffee
"I said get down on the fucking ground!" yelled the shooter as he approached Stiles.
He didn't even need to turn around to know this was a lone shooter; he turned around quickly and threw his coffee at the shooter's face. He gave out a cry of pain from the hot coffee. Stiles disarmed him and elbowed the guy in the side; bringing his arm back he gave himself the momentum to uppercut the guy's face causing him to stumble back and fall to the floor. Stiles had the gun which was a Colt Defender, this sub-compact 1911 with the features of a 3-inch barrel and is available in either 45 ACP or 9mm. He pointed it at the guy on the floor
"Stay down" he said seriously as he pointed it at the guy (right between the eyes).
The guy was terrified as he held his hands up in fright.
With a commanding tone he told the woman at the counter to call the authorities. As she did that Stiles kept the gun pointed at the man that was until he caught a glimpse of a strawberry blonde hair, he froze in his spot as he tried to convince himself it was not her.

She had wide eyes as she stared at him with disbelief and question; as to why he looked so familiar to her. The police was coming about, all Stiles did was walk out taking the guns with him. He knew that the guy wouldn't be able to escape even more so without his gun and the surround police. Stiles didn't want to be there any longer, he wanted to avoid the woman with the strawberry blonde hair
"Stiles" he quietly heard his name
"Stiles" it was louder and she stood up fast that her chair fell to the floor.
He was out the door; he could feel his chest was rising and falling rapidly that he broke into a sprint, sprinting away from the coffee shop. Looking suspicious to the cops. So two card followed him, once he was away he faked a panic attack and with outstanding acting skills he convinced them he ran out from the coffee shop because he was frightened of the events that had just happened. He handed them the persons' gun to them and they told him not to do that again but they let him off with a little warning. They still told him that they needed to take his statement.

As they walked back to the police car Stiles kept his eyes to the floor; but from his peripherals he could see a man by the alleys. He cast his eyes back down and cursed a little as he realized that it was Derek, Stiles stayed close to the officers and he headed over to the cars.
Stiles could tell that Derek was nearby, watching him. Once the officers were finished taking his statement of what had happened, as they took the guy away, Stiles was quietly waiting for his permission to leave
"You are a very brave, young man" the officer complimented him
"Thanks" Stiles said quietly.
Stiles could hear his name be called out by the female, by Lydia. He ignored it and asked the officer if he was allowed to leave and once he was given the ok he walked off.
The officers were trying to calm down the hysteric woman who called out for Stiles, tears running down her face. His face was stoic and blank as he walked off. Although, he felt his heart race, he managed to slow it down because he could tell that Derek was still around. Stiles didn't have any kind of weapon, to protect himself; that is if Derek comes after him for more answers.

Stiles finally made it to his own apartment; he was in a state where he couldn't control the emotions he had locked away for so long. He slammed the door shut, he felt his eyes blur as the tears rush down. Her smell haunted him (the smell he so desperately wanted to forget); all of the memories of her haunted him like a shadow of an old willow tree. Stiles knocked over the books he had at his entrance table, he felt like he ran a marathon; his breathing was so uneven almost like he was gasping for air. It was as if he were drowning; tripping to the floor he was on all fours, his tears falling as he let out sobs.
Her full lips, the way they would kiss him; the way they felt so soft. Her beautiful strawberry blonde hair and how it just gave so much color when snow would fall on to it; the way her hair flowed around herself when he woke up next to her every morning. The way she laughed; the way she turned down his sarcastic comments and/or jokes. His heart belonged to her and only her, but what broke him was her voice; the way she would say his name.
Moments ago he had heard her voice calling out his name, it killed him inside to hear the desperation and the fearfulness in her voice; as she called out for him.
Weakly he stood up as he felt that his whole body was heavy like bricks. He stumbled over to his room to rest. He lay on the bed and just stared at the ceiling and waited for the darkness to come; as exhaustion took over him from all the crying he had done, closing his eyes he dreamt of the fight that had ended their relationship in the first place.

Getting back from a days' work with his dad and keeping Beacon Hills safe; it was break time so for the holiday he was helping his dad out with patrolling and working on some cases on the double. He walked through the door and put his jacket away on the hanger. He saw Lydia sitting at the dinner table; in the apartment they shared which was originally Lydia's.
Stiles walked over and saw she had almost consumed a whole bottle of wine; her eyes were red and puffy, a wine glass in hand with her hair in a messy bun and falling over her face, mascara running down her cheeks but a phone by the almost empty wine bottle
"Lydia?" he said softly.
She said nothing as she felt the tears run. She thought she didn't have any more tears to cry. Stiles rushed to her side and took the wine out of her hands. He used a hand to move her hair away from her face. His hand now rested on her shoulders as he asked again with a worried tone
"I want you to quit" she muttered
"What?" he asked clueless
"I want you to quite working with your dad" she said finally looking at him.
He frowned as he grabbed a seat and sat across from her, he grabbed her hands to sooth her but she took her hands away from him. Stiles didn't understand why she was saying this nonsense, she of all people knew he loved working with dad and being an officer
"I can't do that Lydia, you know that" he said with a sigh
"Yes you can! My god Stiles you can, just quit, I'm sick of coming home to and empty place and not having my boyfriend home. I'm tired of fearing that you were killed while on patrol...you're only human Stiles, you're not Scott who can just heal in an instant, and I'm not sure if you realize but we live in a world where there is the supernatural!" she yelled in his face.
This hit a nerve in Stiles, this wasn't the first time they have fought about this topic. He knew he was human but he hated how she always brought that up in every argument they had regarding him working with his dad on any kind of cases. She may be a banshee but she has the same regeneration as a normal human and that was always his counter-defense to hers, but she always points out that she has a defense to prevent herself from getting home and her scream could kill anyone she wanted to if they were close enough.

"Stiles see! You can't even pay attention, are you even listening to me!" she yelled
"Shut up! Can you just stop? All you ever do is complain, this is my life, Lydia" he snapped at her as he stood up knocking the chair over as he stood
"I don't go complaing about you being an actress now do I? Seeing you on shows or movies having sex scenes or kissing other men, now do I? I let you because that is your job and I respect that! But no all you ever do is complain about me being an officer, I didn't see you having a problem with that when we were in high school!" he yelled but she followed suite with his actions
"But this is different you are always going into dangers way! And my acting is much safer than trying to get myself killed while sitting in some car eating donuts!" she yelled
"We don't just sit there eating donuts! You don't even know how it works in our line of work, and I'm at least doing something to keep people safe!" he yelled.
There was a harsh slap. Stiles had his face cast to the side, his cheek turned red from the slap that was give to him by Lydia.
