"So..." Amber put her hands on her hips and tilted her head up slightly. "It's only a few feet but it's a start."

"I didn't know that I was even from another planet let alone had powers till an hour ago. Just let me adjust." Kara landed less than gracefully on the grass, almost falling over but regaining her balance quickly. "Why do I need to do this? I'm not cut out for powers or Superhero-ing."

"I have been training for two decades, just please, let me finally be the teacher for once." Amber grinned and then gave Kara the symbolic puppy eyes that they had both used since they were little kids. "Try hovering again." Kara tried but fell to the ground, still not in control of her powers, she swatted Amber's helping hand away, actually hurting her. Kara looked down at the blonde's dislocated wrist.

"Oh, god." Kara dropped to her side. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, of course." Amber clicked her hand back into place. "Just dislocated. We're both strong enough to hurt each other so be gentle." She cleared her throat and stood. "Try again?"

"No, I don't know if I'll hurt you again." Kara shook her head and took a step back, her foot catching a rock but before she could fall, she was high in the air with her eyes closed.

"Oh. My. Rao! You are doing it!" Amber yelled. "You're flying!"

"Can I come down please?" Kara was shaking with adrenaline and pure fear, but Amber hadn't noticed that she didn't want to continue. "I want to go home!"

"What about the other powers?"

"Please, I don't want to..."

"Please, just let me teach you a few powers and then you can go home." Kara nodded, making Amber smile as the feeling of having a sister was still a very new and exciting one. "Let's try laser vision."

"Who names these?"

"Winn, he comes up with the names of everything."

"Winn?" Kara yelled, landing on the ground. "Winn knows?"

"Alex and I will take you through everything but for now, let's try laser vision."

"Fine." Kara groaned and motioned for Amber to explain.

"Oh, okay. Basically, it's like a really intense staring contest." She laughed but Kara remained serious, giving a glare to a plant to her right. She felt the heat from her eyes, followed by plain white clouding her vision, and then suddenly, the tiny flower was gone and all that was left was a small fire, which soon turned into a raging one that caught hold of all the grass in the area. "That happened..." Amber muttered and flew into the air immediately, blowing out the fires with her freeze breathe and then returned to where Kara was still standing there, bewildered.

"I've never... seen you up close... doing that... it's amazing." Kara stuttered.

"We should go back to Alex. She's probably worried." Amber held out her hand and giggled once again at the thought of her new sister. Kara rolled her eyes and took the Superhero's hand, closing her eyes until they landed on the balcony of her apartment.

"You two..." Alex warned, but when she saw their faces, she pulled them both in for a massive group hug. "I didn't know whether you were in danger or something else..."

"Something else," Amber repeated, looking back at Kara who was still shaky. "Are... you okay?" She asked but Kara couldn't hear it, she was starting to get dizzy and had to use her energy on staying upright. Alex took Kara's hand and looked her in the eyes.

"Let's get you to the..." Kara had passed out before anybody knew what was happening.

Alex had to stop herself from screaming her little sister's name when Kara hit the ground with a sickening thud. Amber had laid her other half on the table and stood back to let the DEO's best doctors figure out what was wrong. Alex arrived less than ten minutes later and ran in to help the other doctors.

Two hours later, a doctor came out of the room, followed by another few who were covered in blood. "Is everything okay?"

"It was a side effect of taking the necklace off and testing her powers so suddenly. Her body couldn't handle the sudden change and it also seems that she has mild pneumonia, seemingly out of nowhere, but she'll heal up and will be fine."

"But she's going to be..." Amber waited for an answer but only got a shrug. She scoffed and pushed past everyone to get to her sister. Apart from looking like a ghost and being hooked up to a scary machine that Amber hoped was just a large heart monitor, she seemed okay. "Alex!"

"What is it?" Alex came into the room, having changed into her DEO gear. "Is she okay?"

"What does that machine do?" Amber pointed towards what she was referring to.

"I'm pretty sure that has something to do with draining lungs. But I've always seen it used to drain lungs of fluid, like if someone has pneumonia." Alex thought for a moment. "Why was there damage to her lungs?"

"She accidentally started a fire with her laser vision. I put it out quickly but, I didn't realise she was close enough to it for it to actually have hurt her." Amber thought about it, maybe Kara had been getting sick already and taking the necklace off made her vitals unstable enough for it to progress. "We'll need that necklace back."

"Where is it?"

"I'm not sure. I threw it to the side when we first landed on the cliffside, it could be anywhere."

"Well, you need to find it. If not having the power dampening necklace on is what's hurting her, it could help.

Four hours had passed and Amber was still out searching. She had checked everywhere, even used her x-ray vision to try and find it but she came up with nothing. A text from Kara that only said was the only thing that made her go back to the DEO without the necklace. The message was only a few words but it meant a lot.

I love you
