Chapter Sixteen

Kara's POV

"So I have powers..." I started but Cat cut me off. 

"I got that much, and I can tell something is wrong, just explain that to me and we can talk about you being Supergirl later." She put a hand on my shoulder. "You can talk to me."

"Everybody at the DEO is frozen and I don't know what to do." I nearly broke down as Cat pulled me into a hug. "I don't know what to do."

"We will figure this out, let's go to my apartment, I have some things there that may help." I looked at her quizzically and she gave me a reassuring smile. I nodded and we flew to her house. It was magnificent, a true mansion, she must have noticed my smile. "Perks of being one of the richest women in media." 

"Nice place! Let's just figure this out, okay? I have other things to worry about and..." I was cut off again but this time by a blue orb-like figure flying around the room. It fell to the ground and suddenly turned into a man. 

"Amber Zor-El, finally I can have your hand in marriage without the world's interference. I made them pause so they can't stop us!" He spoke with an English accent that gave me butterflies. I tried to ignore the feeling and watched as he made Cat disappear, then suddenly I was in a wedding dress, and the man was on one knee presenting a stunning ring to me. "Will you marry me now, my love?"

"Uh... I... What... I'm sorry, who are you?"

"Your one True Love, you don't remember?" He stood and looked down and then up at me, then gasped. "You're the twin, aren't you? Where is Amber?" I shrugged and stepped back, unable to respond. "Tell me now!" He conjured a gun and pointed it at me, his finger getting closer to the trigger by the second. I had to think fast.

"That won't work, I have the same powers as Amber!" 

"I know that, which is why there is Kryptonite in the magazine. Now tell me where she is!" His finger was now on the trigger, and my heart rate accelerated through the roof. That's it, the roof! I thought 'You have powers, dumbass, you can get out of this!'

"I don't know." I took a step back to distance myself some more and flew directly up, feeling a burning sensation in my lower left arm. I ignored the pain and flew to the DEO, everyone was still standing where they were when I left. I looked down at my arm and almost threw up as I saw a sickly green bullet in an open wound, blood was gushing out. I groaned and made my way to the med bay, where the man was sitting on one of the beds. "Seriously?" I tried to ignore him, so I grabbed tweezers and with a lot of effort, I got out the bullet. 

"That's not just any Kryptonite, it's from the fifth dimension, like myself. My name is Mxyzptlk, spelt how it sounds, and that bullet wound will get infected if you don't help me." 

"What? How could you possibly know that?" The wound, which had turned into a dull ache by now, started heating up and I felt as though my arm was burning. I looked down and sure enough, it was infected. "Are you doing that?!"

"Yes, find your sister and convince her to marry me in twenty-four hours, or you will lose your arm, then your life..." He disappeared in blue smoke, leaving me and my wound alone. I bandaged it up and grabbed my phone, dialling Amber's number as soon as I could. 

"Hey, Kara. I was just about to message you, something's going on with everyone!"

"I know, and I know why. Get here, now."

Amber's POV

I landed at the DEO with Alex, who was still a little dazed. Everybody was frozen still as if someone had stopped time. I looked for Kara and found her in the Med Bay, clutching her arm. She was wearing a long, white dress that was gorgeous if not for what looked like a bloodstain running down the side.
