{DAY V}

- Night {18h00 - 00h00}

Me and Katie had already stopped running. We were at Harriet's house, telling everything that had happened.

She and her family listened in agony, to our explanations.

- Let me see if I understand ... Are you being chased by who ? - Harriet asked.

- By the circus master of ceremonies. - Katie replied.

- So we are waiting for what to save the souls you spoke of ? - Harriet said.

- I don't know! Come on Katie and Harriet. More people to help, much better it is! - I said, trying to sound excited and overconfident, but I do not think that's what happened.

Harriet took something from a shelf in the house and asked me to take it with me. It was a book, one of magic.

Katie was going to a kitchen, preparing a potion with holy water, vinegar and salt.

- Thank you, Harriet. That will help a lot. Now, enough of it and let's go! - I said.

The two girls agreed. We said goodbye to Harriet's parents and left the house. I found it odd that Harriet's parents agreed with her to hunt down a demon, even though she was small, but I assumed they thought it was all a joke.

We walked back to the circus, this time covered by a magic barrier. No one could touch us.

The little devil could, but we had holy water, mixed with vinegar and salt. Even if he touched, we would kill him and free the souls.

Okay. This is looking like the movie I watched some time ago. But who cares ? This is real life.

I took a deep breath when we arrived at the circus. To our bad luck, they were already leaving. And they would take the souls with them. Not if I could stop then first.

Of course, they had more people and they were stronger. But Katie had powers. I had powers and Harriet could be the distraction. Nothing would go wrong.

It's all right. My life would not end. I meant, maybe my life would not end.

I concentrated on looking at my wand at whoever saw us, murmuring spells. Katie did the same and Harriet, well Harriet did almost nothing.

She had no powers, which made it difficult for us. I sighed. Harriet did not have much chance of survival in this battle.

I needed to do something for her. Harriet had been nice to me, and she helped me when I got here. It was time to return the favor.

I leaned against her shoulder and murmured some words I knew of the spell. Harriet looked at me, confused.

I finished the spell and an aura came around Harriet. The magic was in her now. I had my mark, she had the wand to do spells.

I handed her my wand and she finally understood. Harriet took the book she had given me and I did not stop it.

The master of ceremonies approached us, angry and riled up. He spoke words incomprehensible to me.

I sighed and began to tremble with fear. Harriet and Katie noticed that. Katie prepared to throw our potion into it. She stared, and threw.

Everything was in slow motion, when the master of ceremonies turned away from the potion and cruelly laughed.

He was approaching and I was moving away in a panic. That's when Harriet released her power.

She concentrated a lot, and a golden aura was around her, shining brightly. How did she do that ? I  wasn't sure. Harriet focused her energy on the Master of Ceremonies, and the light struck him.

I just stared at everything paralyzed and the Circus artists too. After the light struck him, he fell off the ground and began to scream in fury.

The light grew stronger and the master and ceremonies disappeared, as did the artists.

It was only after I realized that the artists were the imprisoned souls, lost for almost always.

They were released and disappeared in the immensity of the sky. Harriet stopped glaring, but she did not faint or went awry.

She was fine, but Katie was not. She wasn't there anymore. Katie was gone, as were the other souls. I felt bad for her. She was cool.

- Harriet! We got it! We got it;  Harriet! - I screamed.

- Yes! - She answered. Harriet gave me a hug and ended up crying with emotion.

We did something I've never done before. I had defeated a smaller demon. Not just me, but Katie and Harriet. Their courage inspired me.

That night, I would not sleep. I would celebrate. Whole Holiday City would.
