'my heart was pounding in my ears, I could barely hear the sounds of my own footsteps. I struggled to breathe. I felt fear settling in'
"You're okay, you're gonna be okay"
I was heading back to hunting headquarters, coming back from a recent hunt, ready to call it a night. I took a shortcut down a small street. in the distance, I see a girl walking alone. by the looks of it she was heading home, didn't think too much of it. as I kept walking a large, dark figure darted past me. I quickly turned around, only to see that the girl had gotten attacked. I ran toward the monster as I pulled out my weapon, firing a few shots into it's back. The monster stepped back in pain, screaming, then running off into the night.
In the dim lighting I could tell she was pale, covered in blood but still breathing. I hastily picked her up, putting her on my back. "don't worry, you're gonna be ok, You're gonna be ok" quickly looking at my surroundings, I recognized the area. I darted down the dimly lit street, trying to reach my home as fast as I could, seeing how we weren't that far. Reaching my house, I kicked in the door, not caring that a few things fell off the shelves. I gently put her down on the sofa, Quickly running into my room frantically searching for potions. Upon finding a few bottles, I quickly ran back into the living room, kneeling beside her nudging her seemingly lifeless body for signs of life.
She stirred a bit in pain. I took that as a good sign, and broke three bottles over her. As the wounds began to disappear, her body relaxed. I assumed she wasn't in pain. I nervously watched her for a minute before getting up from the floor, I sat in a nearby chair across from where she was, monitoring her through the night, making sure she was alright.
