The sirens blared, over the radio, the announcer repeated the phrase "WARNING, STORM APPROACHING. Please evacuate, I repeat please evacuate. ADVERTENCIA, APROXIMACIÓN DE TORMENTAS. Por favor evacúen, repito por favor evacúen." My mother yelled as she was loading the car, " Guys, we have to go!" My brother and I grabbed our suitcases, we hoped in as our car speed away. As we left, I heard the defining roar of the storm approaching. I wanted to cry, but my whole family was in the car. Instead, I popped in my earbuds and turned up my music. At first, I was listening to my favorite singer but slowly grew board of their repetitive lyrics. I grabbed my iPod and looked through my music until I found my dad's old piano music. See, my dad used to be into classical music but slowly grew to like classic rock. I ventured deep into the lovely melodies, calming vocals, and soothing crackle of the old recording. The calming piano music slowly lulled me to sleep. I must've been asleep for awhile because when I woke up I was covered in my own drool. When I finally got out of that dream-like state, my eyes wandered around the car. My family was nowhere to be seen, I started panicking. The car door opened, in came my dad. "What the heck dad, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" "Calm down, Enza! We were just using the bathroom. If you gotta go, hurry up. We're leaving soon." He sat down, the car swayed as his body weight shifted. I got up and went into the gas station bathroom. The whole room was covered in a deep green mold, the unpleasant smell hit my nose like I was standing near a dumpster on a hot summer day. I almost puked but managed to hold it in. As I sat down, the awkwardly warm seat startled me." When was the last time they cleaned this place?" When I finished, I got up and began to flush the toilet. I pushed the handle but nothing happened, "UGHHHHHH, MOM!" My mom came rushing in, "What happened, sweetie?" I pointed to the handle, "It won't flush!" My mom chuckled under her breathe, "Well what do you think I can do? Go get a plumber?" "I guess, I mean this place is gross anyways." My mom started to leave, as she got to the door she turned around and had an apologetic look on her face. She paused for a few seconds before talking, "I'm sorry sweetie. This whole storm thing is messing with your week but I'll make it up to you. When we get to our hotel I'll buy you a coke?" "Sure, Thank's mom. I love you!" I shouted before she left and got in the car. "Hurry up Enza!" My dad said loudly when I finished washing my hands. The soap felt like water and the sink was covered in hair. "Coming!" I ran over to our car, It was a dark blue minivan with rust and lots of scratches. We had had it since I was born, It had its fair share of damage done to it. I quickly jumped into my seat and my dad reminded me to put on my seatbelt. My brother looked at me, he had the dumbest look on his face. I scowled at him,"What are you looking at?!" He started to laugh, "You're just the ugliest person I have ever seen!" He was the most annoying person I had ever met, he liked to tease me because I was born 2 minutes after him. He pretends like he is the older one, but he acts so much younger than me. I put on my earbuds and ignored him. The hours of driving seemed to drone on for hours, I looked out the window. It started to rain, the soothing sounds of the rain hitting the car were calming. I was more relaxed now, I knew everything was going to be okay...
