I was laying in my bed on my stomach under the blankets all nice and warm when I felt someone sit down on the bed next to me. I heard a whisper in my ear, "good morning beautiful."
I smiled knowing it was my love Caspian. He leaned down and kissed my cheek tenderly. He moved my hair to the side and started kissing my neck occasionally sucking at the skin making me moan. He pulled back the covers and started nipping at my shoulders. His fingertips lightly grazed my shoulders and played with the hem at my nightgown. My eyes were closed and he turned me over so I was on my back. He kissed my lips his tongue entering my mouth; I twined my fingers in his hair pulling him closer. He laid himself on top of me, our crotches pressed together. His hands found their way down to my chest and start massaging my breasts making me moan once again in pleasure.
His lips left mine and started kissing my neck making my back arch towards him. "You want to?" He whispered in my ear. I opened my eyes and nodded while I bit my lip. I looked into his eyes and saw the longing in them; he wanted me as much as I wanted him.
He lifted my nightgown over my head leaving my body exposed before sitting up so he was straddling my waist. He took his shirt off and then his pants and undergarments. He leaned back down and kissed me long and deep. His fingers were tracing the skin around my belly button while I ran my hands down his chest and below his waist. He moaned and I smiled as he continued to kiss me. He bit my bottom lip before his mouth left mine; he moved his head down to my neck and started kissing my jaw, my neck, collar bone, and finally his lips found my taut nipples and started sucking on them. I arched my back in pleasure once again. He kept sucking on one while his hand massaged my other breast. He pressed his crotch to mine; teasing me before he sat up. He spread my legs and leaned forward once again.
I opened my eyes and was disappointed to find myself alone in my room with no Caspian in bed with me. I looked down at myself and saw I was still wearing my nightgown, yet in between my legs was wet. What on Planet Jaconia had caused me to have such a dream. Oh it didn't matter, I thought. It was wonderful.
Maybe it was because I missed my fiancé, I wished he had come yesterday. When I see him today I'll ask. But today is the last time I'll be able to see him before the ceremony. Seven days without him seemed like torture, but I'll live. I'm getting to spend the rest of my life with him so seven days isn't all that bad.
I sat up in bed and remembered that the sacrifice was in two days. Surely they wouldn't chose Caspian. I was slightly worried but not so much that it hindered me from living my daily life. I got out of bed and walked over to my wardrobe. When I opened the French doors a small bouquet of coconut lilies fell out with a small note saying for my love Lucie. I smiled and retrieved the flowers from the bottom of my dresser. I brought them to my nose and breathed in their sweet scent. The flowers started flaking and falling apart. These were perfect to eat. He must have done that on purpose, I giggled to myself. I broke a small chunk off one of the flower tips and placed it on my tongue. It took a minute to dissolve, but it tasted so sweet and slightly chewy. His gift was wonderful.
I chose a light pink dress with short sleeves and the hem only went to my knees. Today is going to be a good day, I thought as I started brushing my long soft hair.

"Brother go to the stream then wash yourself up. Then we will make our leave." The Red Eyes said to me. I didn't want to, but I knew that if I disobeyed I'd be eaten.
"Where are we going?" I asked when we started to head off.
"Home," was all they said for the rest of the way.
We kept walking for what seemed like hours until we came across a cave. A humongous cave that you could get lost in for days before ever seeing the light of day again. They led me inside and although there were no sources of light I could still see everything, but it was as if all the color had been sucked out leaving it in black and white and those two colors were inverted. It was the strangest thing. But when we had stopped walking I realized where I was: I was in Red Eyes Territory now. Everything that I had been accustomed to, everything that I had grown up knowing, and everything that I believed in didn't matter anymore. You do as you're told or you're eaten. Simple enough system. I knew as much because my great great grandfather had been chosen as well. In fact every fourth generation in my family has been chosen. For some reason no one has been able to figure out the pattern except for me. He came to me in a dream and told me everything that I know about the Red Eyes.
"Come brother," one of the Red Eyes said. I looked over at him and realized that he was in fact a she. And she looked like me. One of my kind. I saw her long pointed ears, her wide beautiful eyes, her slender fingers, her gorgeous figure. "What is going on?" I said.
"You have been chosen," she said.
"Yes, but why am I here now?"
"You have been chosen," she repeated.
"Yes I know this. But the sacrifice is not until two days from today, so why am I here now?" I tried explaining.
She stared at me blankly, "you have been chosen."
At that point I gave up asking questions. She started walking and motioned for me to follow her. I did as she instructed and together the two of us walked down a small tunnel.
    "What is your name brother?"
I was startled for a moment. We had walked in complete silence up until now and her voice echoed in the rocky chamber. "M— my name? Umm— Caspian—"
"Hello Caspian," she said in a sweet voice like silk. "All your questions shall be answered after you are introduced to the Father and King of our kind. You may feel different from us now, but you shall quickly adapt."
We had come to a stop at a giant set of double stone doors. These weren't any stone doors crudely made with simple tools; these doors were sculpted and designed with such a precision it was almost breathtaking. Large circles were linked together with different marks inside them. Some sort of ancient power was sealed inside these doors, I could feel it.
"We are bound together, the Elven and the Night Shadows, in an eternal pact. One Elven tribute shall be sacrificed annually, and in return the Night Shadows shall grant good fortune to the Elves. Peace shall remain intact between both factions, and no war shall break lose. Allies forever: give one life and save a thousand." The Red Eye girl read the eternal pact on the wall. I had no idea that that was the pact. My kind only tolerated the Red Eyes, we disliked them but they helped us every year. I supposed they weren't as bad as every elder made them out to be.
"This is our code and most important law. You cannot read it yet, but as you develop into a Night Shadow your abilities will come naturally."
"I had no idea that you guys' names are actually Night Shadows. We just call your kind Red Eyes." She cringed when I called her a Red Eye. She looked like I had physically hit her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you."
"That... Name... Is a great insult and I would advise against using ever again." She lifted her chin haughtily at me.
"I'm sorry," I said again. "I had no idea. Thank you for telling me before I did something really stupid." Her face softened and she lowered her chin. She looked beautiful.
"It is quite alright I suppose. Just remember to not use that name again. Please." She added quickly. "And now it is time to meet the Father and King," she said before opening one of the large beautifully carved stone doors.
