“So this is Michael.”, Luke introduces the guy with the weird black and white hair. “He plays the guitars and backup vocals sometimes.” Michael waves at all of us.

“It’s so nice to meet y’all.”, he smiled at us. “Thanks for having us.”, and made a handshake with Kennedy.

“And this is Calum. My best bud.”, Luke continues pertaining to the Asian-looking guy. I’ve heard of his name somewhere but I guess it wasn’t him. “He plays bass guitar and vocals with me.” Calum smiles and greets all of us, eyeing me strangely.

“Cool to be here. Thanks.”, he says and puts his guitar bag down.

“And the best drummer, everyone,”, Luke said. “Ashton Irwin.”, he smiles.

“Why don’t we get to be introduced with our last names? I don’t feel special.” , Calum pouts. I was right. Those lips were made for pouting. I laugh internally at the thought.

“Knock it off, you derpies.”, Luke threw his hands in the air like sassing the two guitarists off. “Of course Ash gets the nicest introduction. He’s the newbie.”

“Oh, so you three didn’t use to have a drummer?”, Isaac asked inquisitively. I was surprised. But I guess he was the friendly one between us.

“Yeah, we only do covers before cause all we have are acoustics.”, Luke defended.

“But we only do acoustics. But we have original songs.”, I blurted out.

Luke eyed me and smiled. “That’s impressive. Who writes?”, he asked.

            “I do.”, I quickly replied.

Luke smiled wider. His smile is becoming my favorite thing. It shows all the rest of his teeth. It makes him look like an innocent child but deep down I think he’s witty.

“Great. I write too.”, Luke acclaims. “It’s like my thing. My life.”

So back in his Volvo this morning, we sang and our voices had such a perfectly fitting melody. And now, we share the same passion in life. Writing. Composing songs. I’d like to think it’s just coincidence because I’m starting to feel like he’s here in Kennedy’s right now for a reason. It isn’t just to give his band a good career and job but it feels like fate. I feel so much vibe around him and it’s becoming very weird. He seems like a happy person. And I mean, I’ve never known total happiness. Sad to say, even in having a strong relationship.

“Then we can make music altogether!”, Ashton shouted.

Isaac and I stare at each other with a knowing look and thought, damn.

Why am I so nervous about them being here? I don’t have a stable life. I’m such a lost soul. And I think I envy them. They’re slowly finding their destiny. And I can feel it’s starting here in Kennedy’s. While here I am, with Isaac, still lost. Lost in uni. Lost in this city. Lost in life.

And Luke, he’s such a strange human being. I feel like we’re the complete opposite. He’s a happy kid while I’m an emotionless bitch. He seems to have direction in his life, I don’t. But we seem to fit. I feel like he’s here… for me. To make me realize something. I don’t know just yet. But I’m feeling it.

Here he is smiling at me again. Making me feel weirder than ever.

            Then I thought.

This is the change I want in my life. The twist I’m waiting for.

            This is just the beginning.

And I hope it doesn’t ruin me.
