Being His Shield

CHAPTER 1

After finding out the truth behind Tej's heart attack, Anika could not believe he would stoop this low and here they are worried sick for him. Dadi isn't keeping well and all that was an act. She didn't know how to keep the anger, pain, frustration down. Tej played with her feelings. She couldn't stop herself from thinking about all that her and Shivaay went through because of him.
Still in her thoughts she saw a silhouette of Tej approaching her still pretending to be ill. If glares could kill Tej would be dead by now. As Tej approached Anika, she could not keep herself from asking him why he did it. Tej looked at her astonished and asked what's wrong. Getting really irritated by his nonchalant behaviour, Anika brought out the bottle and showed him then asked again why he did this. Seeing the bottle, Tej says he had not seen the bottle before. This statement got Anika really irritated then she coldly told him to drop the facade that she could see right through it. Tej immediately dropped the facade and started smirking. Seeing this Anika tried her best to keep calm and her voice as low as possible because she didn't want anyone to know about this.
"Why did you do this Badepapa, why? Do you know how worried sick we were for you and we were scared to death when Veer said you could have died. Did you how we felt. Did you even think this through before this(pointing at the bottle). Tej raised his voice at her and told her to keep shut. Then he said that yes he faked all this to get his sons back, that her and Shivaay have kept his sons away from him. Anika was taken back by this but she didn't allow it to put her down. She then replied calmly keeping her anger aside that he could have talked to Shivaay that there is no way Shivaay would refuse him if he talked to him. Hearing this statement from Anika, Tej was furious and he barked at her causing Shivaay and the rest to come down but Tej and Anika were unaware of this. Om, Rudra, Gauri and Bhavya were surprised and shocked to see Tej hale and hearty. Shivaay was shocked, surprised and angry. Shocked and surprised to see Tej standing on his feet hale and hearty but angry at the way Tej was treating Anika then he looked at Anika and saw tears lingering in her eyes but what shocked was the fury, rage and anger he saw in her eyes. He had not seen her like that before. So back to Tej and Anika.

I have been trying for so long to keep calm, to give you the respect you deserve even after your atrocious act but no you still give me excuse to not respect you and now you have crossed the line by badmouthing my husband. How could say that, The same Shivaay who always protects his family. The same Shivaay who pleads with your children on your behalf. The same who would not care for himself but the family. The.. hiccup.. same.. hiccup.. Shivaay (now the tears were flowing freely from her eyes but it still held the same anger, fury and rage in them).
The junior Oberois were crying now. Om and Rudra were burning in anger ready to go and give Tej a piece of their mind but their wives held them back telling them no. Shivaay was in a situation called mixed feelings. He didn't know what to feel as his tears fell freely from hi eyes watching his wife defends him like a shield, he felt proud and then said to himself what has he done to get an angel like her but he got sad seeing the Tej was accusing him.

Tej cut her shut saying sarcastically "Wow, off all people, you, are the one praising Shivaay" Anika looks at him confused and asked him why won't she praise Shivaay? Tej says "Have you forgotten so easily what Shivaay did to you. Hmm it seems like you have well let me rewind your memory, how could you forget that the same Shivaay you are praising is the one that forced you to marry him, he put you brother Sahil in danger, why am I going this far Shivaay broke you before you even knew him. He took your house from you, tagged you a theif right, made you look like a speck of dirt before him. Hah, how can I forget he tagged you a whore, didn't he? Anika looks at Tej hurt as he takes her through her painful past with Shivaay while Shivaay was disgusted with himself and also angry for saying such words to her and he said to himself, "I don't deserve her I did everything in my power to break her and here she's supporting him". Tej continued talking seeing her expression thinking his breaking her. Anika just look at the person you're fight for, the same person who proclaimed you a gold digger in front of the world, threw you out your in-laws house because you were protecting him. He laughs sarcastically then asked "What if history repeats itself, you're here protecting him, shielding him. The great wall of Anika protecting her husband. He laughs again then scoffs. Anika what you'll never understand is that you're no match for Shivaay, you're nothing but a mere orphan with no naam, khoon, khandan. Anika flinched at this, she was hurt. Tej touched her touchy topic but lost in her thoughts, Shivaay's words came to her mind, you're perfect the way you are no need to change yourself, I love my kidhkitod Anika the way she is. Remembering this brought a smile on Anika's lips. Tej who was watching Anika as her face expressed many emotions was taken back seeing the smile that graced her lips. Anika smiled at Tej and said to him "do you know what Mr Oberoi, I don't blame you. You're still leaving in the past and do you know what happens to people like you, the past itself consumes you. What did you think Mr Oberoi, you'll remind me of my painful past with Shivaay and I'll protecting him or breakdown then you're absolutely wrong. Yes you made me sad that I won't lie but you also made me remember all the love, care, support Shivaay had and is still giving me and what did you say again he proclaimed a golddigger in front of the world but if you're forgetting he proposed to me in front of the world and also we got married again in fornt of the world, so, Mr Oberoi your points are useless. I pity you Mr Oberoi, you're busy picking up Shivaay's past faults when yours are worst than his. Mr Oberoi here to my advice and correct your mistakes before you point at others. "It's a good thing that the rest are in their room and had no idea of this conversation we just had"saying this Anika walks off but Tej stops her saying do you think this is over Anika, I can destroy you with the flick of my wrist. Anika turns and smiled at him and told him smiling "do it then, destroy me". Tej looked at her shocked. Anika saw this and smiled and she told him "don't be so shocked Mr Oberoi, I'm over this, try something new, different or unique then she turns to go but turns to him and said to him "mend your ways Mr Oberoi, don't forget the saying better late than never then she flicked her hair back over her shoulder while going but stops shocked at what she saw.
