Emptiness. Horror. Despair. Nothing.

Daniel was going through many of these emotions over and over. He didn't even know if anyone could have survived such a fate. His friends were gone. Even his sister was lost. A shocking realization hit him as his eyes widened in terror, the tears streaming down the side of his face faster than before.

Oh god. Mom. He thought, holding his legs closer to his chest. He sobbed in that white void, unable to do anything but cry as he floated in that space for what felt like hours.

Sensing some in the back of his mind, Daniel looked up from his sorrow to his right. He spotted a dozen or so Stella monster flying at him a few hundred feet away. Each one was snarling and snapping the air as they flew at him.

Seeing these monsters, Daniel felt rage like no other boil forth inside of him. His face went blank as he uncurled himself from the ball he made. Raising his right arm up slightly in front of himself, he summoned his daitō, blade catching the light of the void. The closer the monsters got, the angrier Daniel felt as his face turned into a fierce scowl.

His shoulders shook, and he looked down a bit and closed his eyes. The Stella were less than a hundred feet away now. Snapping his head up and opening his eyes, the boy yelled back at the monsters and exploded into action.

"RUPTI SUNT!"

With this new skill, his speed increased ten fold as he blazed through his opposition, swinging with all his might. Slow to react the monster in the front line died quickly. Within the first 3 seconds he already killed ten of the monsters, but they just kept coming. He didn't care though, and continued to hack and slash his way through the horde.

Memories flooded his mind in waves. Moments he thought forgotten came back to him.

"Augendae." His daitō cut through a head. How much his sister irritated him. Limbs were lost. Pissing his few friends off with his random comments. Blue substance covered few parts of his body, burning at his clothes and skin. His mom's laughter.

A particularly powerful ram into his left side knocked him out of memory lane. Flipping through the air uncontrollably, he was hit in the stomach and stop his out of control flight. Spit and specs of blood fell from his mouth. Grabbing his stomach with his left hand, he looked up to see the monsters' numbers hasn't dwindled down even halfway. His breathing was ragged as he struggled to move.

The closest Stella lunged at him. It didn't get very far before a cluster of white arrows bombarded the creature from his right. Before he could look that way a green line flew from behind him on his left, twisting in an arc and cutting down a dozen more monsters.

"Are you stupid or what? You're so damn lucky we even got here to save your sorry ass." A familiar, almost cocky male voice called from behind him. Turning around, Daniel half glared at the person behind him.

The now revealed boy had spikey black hair, a large strand hanging over most of his right eye. His cream colored skin was just a bit pale. He wore a black short-sleeved button shirt that was currently unbuttoned with a dark green under shirt. He had all black dress pants and what looked like black 'J.Murphy' dress shoes. Staring back at Daniel were coal black eyes that held a hint of playfulness in them. On his right arm, Daniel could see the black markings of a snake coiling down towards the boy's hand.

The other boy floated closer to Daniel and flicked him in the forehead with his left hand. Grabbing his forehead in shock, Daniel began to angrily glare at the other boy who had smirk on his face. "Ok, first off sir, who are you? Secondly, who do you think you are to hit me and not think I won't retaliate?" Daniel asked, wanting to punch this boy in his face.

I've seen that snake. What's going on? Daniel thought, generally confused. The boy cocked his head to the right, smirk seemingly large than a few seconds ago. "How about we get these monsters taken care of first, then we can all talk. 'Sides it's bad to keep a lady waiting while we stay here and chat." The boy replied as he rushed past Daniel.

Lady? Daniel thought and looked back towards where the boy was going. Indeed he did see a girl around the same age as him fighting against the monsters with- Wait I recognize that bow she's using! This girl was using the same bow from his dream that morning, shooting dozens of arrows at the Stella trying to converge on her.

Her beige colored skin went perfectly with the cool gray short-sleeved open-back flare dress that reached just below the knees. On her feet were low ankle strap heels, the same color as her dress. Her shoulder length platinum blonde hair was styled into two straight pigtails on both sides of the top of her head that got curly towards  the ends. Starting around the middle of each pigtail were light pink streaks that got more vibrant towards the ends. She was facing away from Daniel, allowing him to see the black markings of a phoenix on her back.

The same one I saw earlier before that wave hit. What the hell is going on! He thought rushing forward to assist her. Two Stella went to flank her from behind, one on the left and right. The other boy had reached the one on the left, summoning the same artillery sword Daniel dreamt of into his left hand and cutting the monster in half. Using Rupti Sunt, Daniel appeared in front of the other Stella already mid-swing. A second later the Stella was no more.

Turning to the other two, Daniel watched as the girl destroyed the last monster. She turned towards him, eyes closed and bow dismissed to fix her pigtails. "I swear I'll punch the both of you as soon as we leave this place. Seriously making me do all the work while you two have a nice chitchat." She said, dusting off her dress. Now that Daniel could see the front of her, he saw her chest size was smaller than Jessica's. Her eyes opened to reveal that they were sky blue.

A small smile graced her face as she floated towards him and extended her right hand out. "Nice to meet you. My name's Alexandra Carter, but you can just call me Alexa for short." Looking from her hand to her face, Daniel dismissed his daitō and shook her hand. "Daniel Montgomery. You can shorten it however you like." He replied.

"So like 'Damn Daniel?' You for real!" The other boy exclaimed, coming up on Daniel's left. "Anything but that. That meme died a while ago dude." Daniel said, giving the boy a heated glare. Alexa covered her mouth to keep from laughing. Seeing this, Daniel's anger deflated into a sad acceptance. The other boy pointed his right thumb at himself. "The name's Jishin. No family name. It means confident if memory serves me correctly." He said proudly, a shit eating grin forming on his face.

Now that you're all together I can do some explaining before I lose too much power.

All three of them stopped playing around to listen.

Your world has been frozen in time. Currently you can't go back. Not for a while.

Frozen? No one died! The depression in Daniel's chest lifted from him.

You all are on a course for a different world entirely. I'll be honest that I don't what the future hold for you. The danger you face will be great from what I can tell. More monsters of Tenebris will come for the light you now carry. My time is up and your exit s approaching. Please stop the destruction of these worlds.

The presence that came with the voice disappeared. Ahead of them, thousands of feet away, a dark hole formed. Looking at the other two, Daniel started moving forward. Alexa and Jishin glanced between each other before following in silence. They were all quiet for a few moments before Jishin spoke up. "So, uh, fantasy world stuff huh?" Alexa and Daniel both seemed to strengthen their will upon hearing that. They all knew there was no immediate way back home nor would it be an easy fix. The only path left was forward.

Daniel just sighed. They were approaching the hole now. Now that they were closer he could see that wherever this place was it was night time. The buildings were oddly shaped and it seemed that the place was surrounded by a forest. Before he could think more on it gravity seemed to increase, launching him forward towards the hole faster than before. Alexa and Jishin were in a similar situation as they all fell inside the hole.

When we met, we kinda stuck to each other. We were a family now since everything we once knew was gone for who knows how long. The first world we ended up in was a little complicated trying to understand, mostly cause of the giant fox attacking the place we landed in didn't give us time to properly get comfortable.
