Chapter Four

“Baby! Are you ready to go?” Mom asked me when she entered my room. I am now fixing my uniform because today is my first day in school as an elementary student and I am so excited!

“Yes mom!” I answered her as I face her, she smiled widely at me.

“My baby is so beautiful just like me.” Mom said to me as she kisses my cheek. I hug her.

“Thank you mom! You’re beautiful too! I love you!” I said and I kissed her cheeks too.

“I love you too, baby! Come on? We don’t want to be late to your school, do we?” mom asked, I nodded enthusiastically and my mom get my bag and to the school we go!

“Mom! I’m scared! What if my classmates don’t like me?” I asks mom while she was driving to my school.

“They will like you, baby. There’s no reason to unlike you.” Mom said while she smiles at me.

“But you said that I will meet different people when I entered school. Then it means that some are my opposites. They might bully me.” I said, while I look at the snowy road.

“You know baby, for a 7 year old kid like you, I should be scared because you are too smart for your age. But because I know that you’re dad was like you, then, I should be proud of you instead. Come on?” Mom asks me as she had park our car at the parking lot. I nodded, mom get my back pack and to our room we go!

We entered my room and saw lots of kids that are playing, I hide at my mom’s skirt because I’m shy.

“Mrs. Santos, it’s a pleasure to see you here.” The teacher greeted mom and they shake their hands.

“Me too, long time no see, Mrs. Jones.” Mom answered. The teacher looks at me, and she smiled.

“You’re daughter?” the teacher asks, mom nodded.

“Yes, she’s Shane.” Mom answered, the teacher smiled at me so I look at my shoes. I’m really shy.

“Cute. Hahaha. Why don’t you join your classmates there? You should start making friends you know?” My teacher said as she leads me towards my classmates.

“Hi kids! Can she join your game?” My teacher asks my classmates, my classmate’s looks at me then they nodded while smiling. “Be good to her, okay?” my teacher said and she went back to my mom’s place.

“Hi! What’s your name?” a girl asks me as she approach me.

“I’m Shane.” I answered. She smiled widely.

“Oh! Nice meeting you! I’m Anna!” she said to me and she hugs me. I became shock. “And starting today, we are now best friends!” she declared and she drag me towards my other classmates to play.
