Funnily enough, it's you to be the first one awake in the morning, again. Wearily shuffling out of your comfortable position, lifting aside the metallic arm that is tightly wrapped around your waist like it's the most precious thing in existence. Jamie is still completely knocked out, sound asleep, and rightfully so. You decide not to be a creep, and ignore the tranquil smirk on his sleeping face, no need to repeat yesterday's mistakes and get caught gawking. Recalling the events from the previous day leave an array of goosebumps on your skin, comfortable ones at that.
Putting on your bra that was carelessly tossed aside in a corner, and sliding your shirt back over your sore chest makes you shudder quite a bit, he had made sure to leave plenty hickies on your thorax, a rather beautiful array of blue and red skin. Nothing too painfully, but enough to be uncomfortable and remind you of their existence.
What again were you thinking letting him do that in the first place? Should have known better, your voice of reasoning calls, Mei had warned you explicitly and you still chose to ignore it halfheartedly; foolishly. Maybe you really were just a dumb kid that wanted human contact, but how could you possibly say no to that pretty smile. No get it together Y/N, you are a grown human being, show some strength and common sense. Rat is a psycho, plain and simple, you should probably make sure to leave all any any contact with him; if you left him here another night you fear he might get a little too comfortable around you.
Besides, it was not like he had something left for you, that heart of his belonged to a certain someone already, Mouse. You had already given him your kiss, that should be enough accomplishment for both of you, enough reminder of how it could have been. The pure idea of giving Rat more was frankly horrifying to you at this point, it would probably be a rather painfully, traumatic experience, and you would most certainly be bloody and blue after. Full of regret and sorrow, it didn't seem worth the pain.
And still you could not stand seeing him so downbeat, it hurt to deeply and acutely to just be so icy to him, you needed to make sure to tell him carefully; afraid he might snap at you or anyone around. Also, you wanted to protect your own soul here, you didn't want to be responsible if he was anxious, you couldn't stand it.
But for now, no need to break your head about it, you needed to calm down your at edge nerves. And what better way to do so then build a few harmless Firecracker? Just a few playful, little fireworks to get started with the day, it helped you concentrate on her things then personal issues, just filling some prepare shell's with varying amounts of gunpowder. You keep a steady pace just silently fiddling around the small explosives, tweaking the amounts and kinds of materials to make new and sometimes malfunctioning little toys, it was a learning process after all.
Come to think of it, that's what got you started as a demo expert in the first place. Taking apart fireworks you gathered on new years eve, taking them apart, just to resemble them into stronger doses. You chuckle softly when you recall the trouble you had gotten yourself into when you blew up a few gumball machines back in your old home town, those were fond childhood memories. Your mom used to scold you for doing so, but dad, he always stood by your side to support your strange hobby.
