" Snow White's rags cannot conceal her blossoming beauty - rose-red lips, slight rouge on her cheeks, skin as white as snow, and ebony hair. She appears sweet and vivacious as well. At the water well, she hums a tune and asks the birds: "Want to know a secret? Promise not to tell? We are standing by a wishing well." " - Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Seven Years Later

The magic mirror was covered in dust, but it wished it could have stayed like that for another seven years as the door flung open and slammed against the wall with a loud bang.

"Oh Mirror!" The evil queen sang, bouncing into the room. "It has been seven years! Time to tell me the truth!" Snow White's step-mother was giddy as she grabbed a cloth and began wiping down the mirror. It promised (well, kind of) her that she would be the fairest all those years ago, and she believed it.

"Okay," the queen smiled, looking at her reflection with adoration as she ran her fingers through her shining black hair.

"Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" she asked lowly, her heart pounding against her chest.

Dramatically, the mask-like face appeared on the glass of the mirror. It stared at the queen for a moment, then regretfully replied,

"You, my queen are fair, that is true.

But Snow White will always be a thousand times fairer than you," the mirror replied, cringing inwardly about how the queen was going to react.

But surprisingly, the evil queen was silent. This freaked the mirror out even more so than if she were to yell.

"You are telling the truth then?" the queen growled softly.

The mirror swiftly replied, "I can never lie."

The evil queen nodded thoughtfully as she wandered over to the bedroom window, looking out at the courtyard. She stood there, eerily watching Snow White, who was singing by the wishing well.

"I'm wishing

For the one I love

To find me

Today."

Snow White's beautiful ebony-colored hair hung over her shoulders as she gazed into the wishing well, singing to her reflection. Her crimson red lips parted into a smile as she started to daydream.

"I'm hoping

And I'm dreaming of

The nice things

He'll say."

The evil queen snorted in disgust. But then, her eyes widened into surprised green orbs, her ruby red lips slightly parting as she saw the handsome prince climbing over the castle wall. He sat there for a good few moments, closing his eyes as he listened to the princess sing.

Snow White was oblivious to the prince that was watching her as she finished up her song with a smile.

"I'm wishing

For the one I love

To find me

Today..."

The prince jumped off the wall and walked up behind Snow White, softly singing along, "Today."

Snow White let out a "Oh!" as she jumped in fright, running back inside the castle.

"No! Miss, I didn't mean to scare you. Please come out!" the prince said, gazing at the door she disappeared into. Maybe she would come out if he sang to her.

"One song,

I have but one song for you-"

He stopped midsong as Snow White emerged onto her balcony. He raised his hand to the princess before stepping onto the courtyard stairs, staring longingly at her.

"One song

Only for you.

One heart

Tenderly beating

Ever entreating

Constant and true."

Snow White blushed madly as the prince continued to serenade her, but she wasn't so sure that she liked him as much as he apparently liked her.

"One love

That has possessed me.

One love

Thrilling me through."

A dove landed on Snow White's shoulder, before hopping onto her outstretched index finger. The sweet princess gave the dove a kiss, who flew down to the prince and landed on his finger. The dove then gave the prince a kiss, who smiled as the dove flew away.

"One song

My heart keeps singing..."

Snow White began to back away as she still continued to feel her cheeks turning a rosy red. When was the song going to end? She was starting to feel uncomfortable.

"Of one love..."

The princess closed the curtains, but peeked out to see the prince finish the song.

"Only for you."

The prince bowed, before bashfully blowing Snow White a kiss. He flashed her a perfect smile as he climbed back up the castle wall and galloped away on his horse.

Snow White let out a long sigh, sliding her back down on the wall as she sat down, staring up at the ceiling. The princess fiddled with a loose string on her dirty work dress.

She closed her eyes as she thought about what just happened out in the courtyard. The prince seemingly fell in love with her at first sight. So why didn't she?

The evil queen watched as the prince rode away on his horse, anger and jealousy consuming her as she jerked the curtains closed, seething with rage. Something had to be done about Snow White.

A/N

Hi wonderful people! Sorry that the chapter is really short. Most fairy tales are short, so these chapters will be short, but I will try my best to make them longer, I promise. :)

Hope you liked the first chapter!

Oh, this story will kind of follow the original fairy tale by the Grimm Brothers, but more so the Disney version, along with my own variations. But then after a bit it won't follow that same plot line anymore. Just letting you know. :)
