Alana's POV-
I'm lost in my algebra homework while studying it on the comfy couch in my moms office while she works.
"Alana, Alana!" My mom gets my attention and I snap out of my algebraic phase. "Are you ready to go?" She asks.
I check the time on my phone to 8:39 pm. "Yeah, let me pack up." I stay pretty late down at the precinct with the squad, always ready to get take out dinner at 9 pm after a long day. Tonight, it's Chinese.
My name is Alana Marie Benson. I'm 14 years old, and I live in New York City. Just my mom and I, she works for the NYPD Special Victims Unit. She's a pretty big deal and well known for helping loads of people. When I tell people my last name, they instantly know me from my mom. Her name is Olivia Benson.
The NYPD is the only life I've ever known. Cops, investigations, clues, suspects, all of it. I've learned to understand what the precinct was since I was 10. Walking into it everyday, it's basically my second home.
We drive over to the Chinese place to get some food. I'm always used to getting dinner super late, cause my mom doesn't get any breaks after I get out of school, and she can't cook. I order some orange chicken and rice, with probably five more pounds of food to go with it, considering how much I love food.
Mom, Amanda, and I like to go out together pretty often. Amanda normally comes over to our place and eats dinner. I love it when she brings her dog, Franny, over. I'm an animal lover after all. Amanda Rollins and my mom are best friends and really good partners at work. I know how much they both love their job, they've been at it for years. I consider the whole SVU squad my family, since my only blood related family is my mother. The rest of my blood related family are pretty psycho. I don't like to get too into it anyways. The squad had always felt like family, ever since I was born.
I come home with mom and Amanda, ready to dig into my hot Chinese food. Our favorite show to put on is Chicago P.D. Any chance we get, we always watch it. Plus there's like over 10 seasons.
Spending short times like this with my mom means the world to me. I don't get to see or talk to her as much as my friends and their moms do. Well, maybe talk to her, probably because she texts me all the time wondering where I am and what I'm doing. But because of work, I know she loves her job, helping out other people and catching evil predators. I don't complain very much, but I always do want a little more attention.
Once the food is nowhere to be found, and Amanda leaves, I head into my room to chill before I go to bed. I walk in to seeing my dark orange ginger cat, Mickey, sleeping on my soft comforter. I turn Netflix on my tv and check my laptop for schoolwork and my grades.
I browse around to find that I have an email, I never really get emails, only unless they're those pesky online stores you can't get away from.
It was from a big senior jock at our high school named Andrew Nickelson. What does he want to do with me? I barely know him, and I'm only a freshman.
Hi Alana,
This is Andrew, we go to high school together. I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go get some coffee, or go to the movies or something sometime. Please get back to me soon!
- Andrew
What? A date? Why would Andrew Nickelson ask me on a date? We barely even know each other. This can't be happening.
I'm only a freshman, he can be dating loads of other "hotter" girls, if I do say so myself. This for real cannot be happening.
There is something going on, and I'm gonna figure it out.
Andrew's POV-
I wanted her so badly. I know it's a huge risk of going after Alana Benson, cause her mom is the lieutenant of SVU, but I need her. Now.
