[Two days later, Dry-cloudy, USA-Florida. 11am-6pm.]
At this point the truck was far away from any urban environment, they rode deeper and deeper away from populated areas. "So sonny what's your name?" The old man knew Alex wouldn't answer he hasn't talked or eaten in the past two days. "Alex...my name, is Alex." Alex looked up and turned his head straight to the window watching the trees go past him. "Ah Alex. I'm Peter, people just call me Pete though." Pete tried his hardest to not mention what happened back there he reaches out towards the glove compartment grabbing a CD and placing it into his car radio. "Hope you like country music."
Pete whistled along to songs, he seemed to have peace at mind. Alex looked towards him "my farther likes country music..." as he exhaled those few words tears began to run down his face once more. Pete pulled the truck over into a filed, this filed itself looked like the apocalypse. Crops were dry nothing around for miles only thing there was a shack made from wood. The keys exited the truck along with Pete he walked around to the other side opening the door for Alex. Alex slides out of the car keeping his head to the floor.
Both men walked up to the shack Pete pulled out his keys and started to open the door, when the door creaked open the first thing that could be recognised was the smell of dead animals. They both continued to walk into the shack the walls covered in hunting trophies and the odd rifle or two. Pete opened the fridge which had no power connected to it, he pulls out two bottles of water and passes one to Alex. Alex takes the bottle but keeps his head down, they both then walk onto the porch of the shack. Alex sits on the steps looking at the bottle of water before him, Pete sits on a rocking chair they both just look out into the nothingness waiting for something but what was that something?
