[C] Sweet Lies - Park Chanyeol

TWENTY-TWO - She is Gone

It is a beautiful morning today. The sun rises quite up in the sky and the birds chirping here and there. People on the street were smiling although the cold snow breeze is killing them till the bone. But obviously is the opposite for this certain one guy.

Knock knock. The sound of his secretary, Haera knocking on his office door.

"Come in." Chanyeol replied.

"Mr. Park, Mr. Kim Junhyung is outside. He wanted to meet your personally." Haera informed.

"Who... is he?" Chanyeol asked unsured.

"He is your wife's lawyer. He said he need to hand you some document for you to sign." Haera replied to her boss.

"Tell him to come in." Chanyeol replied slowly. Only enough for Haera to catch his voice.

His boss were so messy these days. He did not come to the office for 3 days without any notice and when he come, his face covered with messy moustache and his eyes also accompanied with heavy dark circle on his eyebags.

"So the day finally came? The day I have to let her go is today huh?" He look sorrowly to the documents on his table before he is up from his chair to the sofa in his office room. Not long after that Mr. Kim entered his office.

"Good morning Mr. Park." Soojin's lawyer which is in her early 30's tried to make a good conversation with him eventhough he is obviously not going to deliver any good news to the young man that look beyond his expectation now in front of his eyes. Chanyeol that is in front of him now is different with the one he saw in those magazines.

"Morning Mr. Kim." Chanyeol tried to smile a little to him although he is not really in the mood for that.

"I'm going straight to my work today Mr. Park. Here is the divorce document that I had already prepared for your wife. You just need to sign the paper under your name there and I will handle all the process within today." Mr. Kim go straight to his main aim for today.

"She wanted to go from me that fast huh?" Chanyeol asked Mr. Kim unknowingly.

"Pardon me Mr. Park but Ms. Hyun wanted me to settle it all by today or else she will cut 10% from my salary." The lawyer said.

"She is still Mrs. Park tho right now. She really want to get rid of my existence in her life that hard." He replied while sighs.

"Show me where to sign? I will grant her wish as quickly as I can. If letting her go is for the best then." Chanyeol asked Mr. Kim to show him where he need to sign the document and Mr. Kim shows him and he put his signature there.

"She is officially not mine now." Chanyeol said in his mind.

"Oh Mr. Park, there is one thing more before I go." Mr. Kim beamed.

"What is it not Mr. Kim? I got a meeting to attend after this." Chanyeol said.

"Ms. Hyun said you need to sign this too. If you don't want to sign this, I should let the paper be with you. That is the document for changing of owner of her photography studio. She will not be in action of the company from now on." Mr. Kim explained what Soojin said to him again.

"Why must I handle her company now? She should handle it by herself. It's hers." Chanyeol thundered with his knitted eyebrows.

"She said it's yours now. You need to sign the paper." Mr. Kim replied.

Chanyeol sign all the paper and handle it back to Mr. Kim.

"Contact me when you settled with all the process." Chanyeol managed to smile to Soojin's lawyer in this state. It might be a bitter smile but he need to be polite to other people too.

"Oh, alright I will inform you this evening. So I guess I'll be going first then? The faster the better. I will get going now. Thank you Mr. Park for your cooperation." Mr. Kim up from his seat and bow a little to Chanyeol before bringing himself out from the office room. He proceed to his car on the basement and drove away to settle down all the documents involved.

While Chanyeol, he is being all miserable. He went to the meeting but he can't focus with what his workers said. His mind is occupied with all the things he did to Soojin. From the first day they knew each other, their bickering and arguments in high school, the day they got married until the day he pushed Soojin from the stairs.

"Let's call the meeting quit. I cannot focus right now. I am so sorry for now." Chanyeol excused himself from the meeting room.

"I lost my wife and my child on the same time." He sighs.

He regretted his action that night. He really don't know what's up with him until he can push Soojin that way. How hurt Soojin must endured. She fell from the stairs and lost their child. Chanyeol clearly remember how bad Soojin bleed on that time in his mind. He drove away from his office and took the car to the countryside. He took his rest there by looking at the beautiful scenery from the beach. The sea look so calming. He stayed there for a while before drove his care back to his house. The house he shared with Soojin. The house where they build their memories there.

"Surprise!" Chanyeol was so shocked when he see his parents and her sister there surprising him with all of the confetti and balloons.

"What is this surprise for?" He asked his family members.

"Where is Soojin? You did not pick her from the hospital? She discharged today. She said you will pick her up in the evening. We come here to celebrate her discharge and your first anniversary as a husband and wife." His mother, Mrs. Park asked.

"Oh, it's already a year today?" He asked half-heartly.

He sighed.

"I have a confession to make." He said slowly while gulping his own saliva on his throat.

"We are already divorce." Chanyeol said in his lower tone.

"WHAT??? What have you done Chanyeol?" Mr. Park thundered.

Chanyeol look to the marbled floor in Park's residence. Mr. Park is not a person who gets angry with his children easily but Chanyeol's word made him angry.

"We already divorced appa. She is not my wife anymore." Chanyeol gloomed.
