"Stupid protagonist! Why would you do that?!" I hissed quietly to myself, gripping the edges of the book I was reading.
After yesterday with Lucy, and actually spending a bit of time with her, I decided to just relax for a day and chill in my sanctuary; the town library.
I angrily groaned and slammed my head down against the stained wooden table, letting the book fall out of my hands and flip back to the cover.
"I can't finish that book. They make the main female protagonist look helpless and stupid," I muttered, agitated. "Time to find another one,"
Standing up, I pushed back my heavy chair and went back to the Sci-Fi section.
I shoved the book back onto the shelf and started scanning the shelves for anything that looked good or that I haven't already read.
"Hm.. Oh! This one looks interesting!" I chirped happily, grabbing the spine of a thick book and pulling it out, revealing a red eye on the other side. I shrieked, dropping the book onto my toe making me hiss in pain.
"Hey Shrimp,"
I glared up at the one eye. "Why are you here? I didn't think a Metal Head like you would even think of entering a bookstore,"
He chuckled from the other side, walking around the shelf to me so we were now talking face to face instead of face to eye.
"I don't know, felt like it," he shrugged.
I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "Alright, well I'm gonna go now anyway. Don't really feel like being messed with today," I said bitterly, picking up my book and turning towards the exit; starting to walk away.
"I'm sorry,"
I stopped and glanced around back at Gajeel. Except, it didn't look like Gajeel. He looked genuine.
"What?" I said.
He tsked, shoving his hands in his pockets. "You heard me. I'm sorry for before. You're not just someone to mess with,"
I stared in complete and utter shock at him, wondering how I should approach this. Should I just still be mad? But he did apologize, and that seems like it took him a lot to work up the courage to say it.
"Jeez, didn't you hear me? Why're you staring at me like that?" he stated.
I smiled, turning back around. "Yeah, I heard you. I accept your apology,"
He looked at me questioningly. "Just like that?"
I nodded. "Just like that,"
He smiled in the slightest, the corner of his lip twitching upward. "Well, uh, alright. So, what do you wanna do?"
I stared at him confused. "What'd you mean, 'what so I wanna do?' I want to continue reading,"
He frowned. "I thought-"
"-that since you apologized we'd magically become friends?" I finished. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but just because I forgive you for earlier, doesn't mean I want to be your friend," I said, setting my book on the nearest table to me and started to walk to the door, the heels of my shoes clicking against the wooden floor. "You and your old guild should've never tried hurt my friends,"

-Gajeel-
I gritted my teeth together, my rage building up at I watched her walk out the door.
She has a right to be mad, I thought to myself. Think about it. You attacked her, you attacked her friends, you attacked and destroyed her home. What other reasons does she need to hate you forever?
I clenched my fist together, walking out of the library.
Right, that stupid promise, I thought venomously to myself. But she said it was an on the spot sort of thing. Does she really intend to stick to it? When she was talking with Lucy she didn't seem like she hated me that much. I'm just hard to get along with.
I looked around the town not seeing her anywhere in sight. I sighed in realization and started walking from the library. "Why am I worrying? I'll see her again."

"He apologized.." I muttered to myself as I continued to speed walk away from the library. "I didn't think he would ever do that. And he seemed almost happy for a second."
"So what'd you want to do now?"
"But he's still the same as before," I declared. "If I let my guard down, he might try and pull something."
Only ten more days and Jet and Droy will be home, I thought happily. And I can forget all about that Metal Head.
[sorry that my updates have been slow and short, I've been losing inspiration. But hopefully they'll be more often now]
