I quickly got up out of my own bed and grabbed some clothes I had laid out the night before.
"I can't believe he actually took my book," I mumbled under my breath, slipping my new clothes on.
I quickly looked in the mirror and smiled despite my situation. I mean, I was still going out and I wanted to look nice.
I had on a light yellow sundress that was somewhat tight down until my hips where it became more loose. I had a thick white ribbon tied around my waist an in a bow in the back, along with matching white sandals.
I grabbed my brown leather shoulder bag and slung it over my shoulder, for when I got my book back.
"I guess it's time to go and start looking," I said.

"Where could he be?" I whispered to myself as I walked around the town. "Seriously, I've checked all the cafés, the stores. I mean the only place I haven't checked is-"
I sighed. "The park. How'd I forget the park?"
After the long walk to the park, I saw Gajeel sitting under the big tree there with his eyes closed. He looked like he was sleeping. I smirked. I'll just take the book now.
I quietly walked over to the tree and kneeled down next to him. I looked all around him and frowned. I didn't see the book.
"Hey, Metal Head," I said, poking his cheek. "Where's my book?"
"Hm?" he murmured, slowly opening his eyes to look at me. "Oh it's just you. Must've fell asleep,"
I rolled my eyes and sat down on the grass with my arms crossed. "Yeah, you kind of did. Now where's my book?"
He sat up more and stretched. "Your book?"
"Are you that forgetful or just that stupid?" I asked. "The whole reason I came looking for you was to get back my book. Where is it?"
He chuckled. "Man Shrimp, you're really pissed off today,"
"No it's just you," I said. "And stop calling me Shrimp!"
He grinned. "No way, that's my new name for you,"
"Whatever, so my book?" I asked, starting to get impatient.
He looked around the area he was sitting in and anywheres else he might've put it (which apparently included in his shirt) and shrugged.
"Huh, must've left back where I was before this," he muttered.
I slapped his arm. "Idiot! Where's that?"
He laughed, standing up and brushing the dirt of his clothes. "Well I'll go get it, you can wait here,"
"No way, like I'd ever trust you. I'm coming with you," I said, standing up as well.
He snickered. "Are you sure? Just stay here and I'll go get it. By the way, it's a pretty interesting book. Ancient Magic is a pretty cool topic,"
I stared up at him. "You read my book?"
He nodded. "It looked interesting,"
"You know, you're a jerk," I muttered.
"Oh am I?" he laughed. "Whatever, it's not like I care what you think,"
I glared up at him, hate filling my eyes. "I didn't expect anything else. You're so insensitive,"
"Could you be any shorter?" he snickered.
"Could you be anymore of an idiot?"
"Nope," he said with a small smirk, knowing he was just pissing me off more and more.
"Metal head," I hissed.
He laughed. "Wow, nice come back,"
I dug my nails into the palm of my hands. "How about I make you a promise," I said slowly through clenched teeth.
He leaned down closer to me. "Sure, why not?"
"I promise," I said, leaning in closer to him and jabbed her finger on his chest. "That I will never, ever, like you. Friend or otherwise. I'll hate every second I'm ever with you "
He smirked and backed up a little ways so he was towering over me. "Fine by me."
"Good. Now come on, lets go get my book," I said, walking in front of him.
"Uh, Shrimp it's this way,"
I stopped and turned around, passing a smug Gajeel.
"Stupid Metal Head," I muttered which made him laugh.

-Gajeel-
"Alright, you stay here," I said as we reached the entrance to the alleyway I was in last night.
"Why can't I come with, huh?" she asked.
I glared at her. "Because you can't. Stay,"
She rolled her eyes. "Woof,"
I laughed, forgetting just seconds ago I was trying to be intimidating. It was funny to think of her as a dog. She also looked kind of cute with her eyebrows scrunched together and her lips pursed.
I felt my cheeks turn a light pink at the thought, which I immediately dismissed. I quickly turned into the alleyway and started walking down.
"Hey! Is something wrong?" I heard her yell behind me.
"I'm fine, I'll be back out in a minute," I muttered, not caring whether she could actually hear or not.
I walked on down the alley and to my make shift sleeping place for the time being. I couldn't really call it a home, just a sleeping place.
I slowly grabbed for her book that was laying on my 'bed' and sighed, looking down at the book now in my grasp.
"Why don't I want to give this back?" I muttered.
Oh yeah. If I give it back, I'll probably never see her again.
"Hey, Metal Head!" I heard an echo of her yell from the end of the alley. "Did you find it?"
I scowled and gripped the book tighter, waking back down the directed path.
Good, I hope I never see her again. She's from Fairy Tail. A guild full of insane people I pissed off. The less I see of her, the better, I kept thinking to myself.
I finally reached her waiting for me, her arms crossed per her chest and a smile forming on her face when she saw the book in my hands. "My book!"
I chuckled. "I told you I'd give it back,"
She rolled her eyes and happily took the book from my hands. "Even after all the trouble it took,"
I shrugged. "You have it back now,"
"Yeah, only because you took it in the first place," she said, her smile turning into a frown. "I should be going,"
"Oh, yeah, right," I muttered.
"Why do you look sad? Jeez, you should be happy I'm going," she said, slipping the book into her bag.
I tensed up. "I'm not sad! Why would I be? You're just a Shrimp who I was just messing with," I sneered, immediately regretting what I said.
Her eyes hardened into a oh so familiar glare and a scowl spreading across her lips. "Just as a thought, you just did this to get a laugh, didn't you?"
I wanted to take back what I said, but it felt like I was just on auto pilot, listening to the stupid things I was uttering. "Tch, why else would I take that book?"
"Thought it'd be funny to pick on the pathetic girl just like you did before?" she said, a hint of sadness lingering in her voice when she said 'pathetic'.
Instead of saying something probably even worse and getting her to sick her whole guild on me, I kept my mouth shut.
"Obviously," She muttered. "Whatever, thanks for nothing Metal Head," and with a quick turn around, she was off down the street.
"Damn," I muttered, running my fingers through my messy hair. "What the hell just happened?"
