small bump

On a certain day before her mother said that she was pregnant, she got sick and vomited. Lilly was very worried. But after a few days her mother told everybody that she was having a baby. Lilly grinned because her mother was happy but she didn't understand what does it mean so she asked her mother and she said " it means that after a few month , you are going to  have  a sister or a brother". Lilly's smile spread all over her face as her cheeks blushed. Finally she will have someone to share her toys with.

As the month passed, there wasn't a day that Lilly wouldn't ask her mother how many days are left and the answer would always be" it's still early, my dear". But Lilly would never stop asking her mother that same question even though she knew the answer. She couldn't contain herself, she was just too excited.

Finally came the day that had been described at the very beginning. The day was quite normal and her mother had everything packed. Her father prepared the car and led her grandparents into the car. Lilly got dressed and followed her family downstairs and into the car. the ride in the car was quite long but they arrived at the time the doctor has made.

 The hospital looked nice from the outside. It had a garden around it and the windows were black but they reflected the sunlight coming from the opposite way. Once they got out of the car, they went in the hospital and the nurse led the family into a long corridor. To Lilly, everything seemed so white and it smelled weird. It didn't smell bad, it just smelled weird. They arrived at a room where her mother lay on bed and waited for the doctor to come.

Eventually the doctor came with nurses and put her mother on a moving bed and took her away .Lilly struggled to keep up with her father's large , quick steps as he tried to follow the moving bed but she started running and that's when she caught up. They got to down to another floor and watched her mother on the moving bed go into a room with swinging doors and she waved goodbye to her mother even though her mother was sedated and didn't wave back. Lilly and her father sat down on the chairs stuck on the wall next to the room with the swinging doors.

 While Lilly waited , all kind of bad thoughts came to her. thoughts of the baby dying or even worse her mother dying. She looked over to her dad to ask him if he was thinking the same but decided against it because he seemed so focused and worried and she didn't want to worry him more.

Suddenly all kind of bad thoughts washed away as the doors opened reveling a woman with something she held tightly in her arms she looked at Lilly and her dad as if she was telling them to come over since she couldn't move her arms obviously occupied with the thing she was holding. Lilly's father quickly rose up to his feet and skipped to the woman. Lilly followed. "it's a girl, congratulations" the woman said. Lilly's dad smiled and leaned over the baby to kiss her. It was Lilly's turn now.

She peered her head over the lowered hands of the woman and saw the most amazing sight she could have ever seen, a sight she could never forget. She saw a very delicate creature with closed eyes and small lips peacefully sleeping and then she kissed the baby. The baby's skin felt so soft on her lips that she wanted to kiss her sister all day long but that thought was completely taken away when the woman raised her arms and her mother came out of the room sleeping on the moving bed.
