Let the curtains rise,
Turn on the lights.
Today is the day
the actor dies.

A mask to cover the star's sadness.
Nobody notices his inner madness.
A spotlight so bright,
shines on a man with no sight.

Nearing the climax,
he takes out his prop,
and uses it thoroughly.
"Boom, bang, pop."

Clear the stage.
The play is over.
All that's left
is a star that's dead.

At last it comes,
the curtain call.
So crimson, so red
For he who gave his all.
