"Who are you?" Batman growled at the two beings in front of him. One was a girl covered in black and dark blue. Her face covered by the hood of her cloak. The other was a boy. He looked to be a normal citizen of Gotham except for the part of wearing a red helmet that covered his whole head. The two looked back at him, making no move to attack or answer.
"It's Batman." The girl spoke a few moments later.
"No dip Sherlock." The boy growled.
"No need to be rude. I just wasn't expecting him to show up so soon, okay?" The girl growled back.
"Told you. What do we do now? Jump off a 12-ft cliff?" The boy sarcastically said. Batman was starting to get annoyed. He was seriously standing right there and they were acting as if he wasn't.
"I'll ask you again," Batman growled. "Who are you?"
"Look, Red Hood. You pissed Batsy off." The girl sighed.
"Don't know what I did though, Midnight. It's not like I pissed in his breakfast." The boy, who Batman identified as Red Hood, joked.
"Are you sure? You tend to piss in Damian's breakfast when he's around." The girl, Midnight, laughed. Batman stared at the 2, confused on how they knew Damian was related to him or how they even knew him in general.
"No, I don't!" Red Hood yelled at Midnight. Midnight laughed, finding it funny that Red Hood fell for the trick.
"What's your business here!?" Batman yelled at them.
"Calm yourself old bat. We aren't here to annoy you. Just passing through." The girl laughed. Batman was about to argue when he saw the bat symbol. Gordon was calling for him.
"Batsy should get going. Don't want to keep you fan waiting." Red Hood teased, earning an elbow to the side and a sharp, 'Don't test him or I'll beat the piss out of you myself,' from Midnight. Batman wanted to keep an eye on them but knew that if Gordon was calling for him then it must be important.
"Stay out of trouble and get out of my city," Batman growled, disappearing into the shadows.
"As grumpy as I remember." Red Hood dryly laughed.
"Shut up. You would be the same if you went through what he did." Midnight sighed.

Batman expected a lot of things from Gotham. Today, however, he did not expect 2 new potential criminals. He did not expect Nightwing to drop by and help him stop the Joker. And least of all, he did not expect the Joker to outsmart him but here he was. Pinned to the floor while the Joker ranted about some nonsense again. Nightwing was hanging by some chains in the corner, cursing the Joker out. Red Robin was asking if they need any help on the other side of the ear piece. But never in his wildest dreams did he expect anyone outside of his team to help him, but that is exactly what the 2 newcomers are doing right now. Midnight was running around, throwing punches, kicks, and even metal poles at Joker's goons. He found it funny when the Joker seemed to notice after awhile but as soon as he would move, a bullet would land in the ground next to his head. He even found it funny when the Joker lost his smile and started growling. Batman took this opportunity to get to Nightwing and unchain him. When he looked back at the scene, Midnight was running head first towards Joker with her arm pulled back. All Batman could do was watch as Midnight swiftly twisted her body to make her punch a kick instead. Joker couldn't keep up with her as she continued to attack him head-on all around him. Even his punches didn't land on her and if they were close, a bullet would come close to killing him. The Joker didn't last long, but something he said before he fell bugged Batman.
"I thought I killed you both."
The Joker killed a lot of people so who could it be?
"Who are you?" Nightwing asked.
"Oh, it's Nightwing. Wasn't he supposed to be here next week? Did you read the time wrong?" Midnight glared at the sky.
"Hey! I was only a week late!" Red Hood yelled, jumping off the roof next door.
"And who are you?!" Nightwing yelled.
"Calm down Nightwing. This is Midnight and Red Hood." Batman sighed.
"You know them?!" Nightwing asked. Batman nodded, watching the 2.
"Anyway. We have to get going. Late night and I'd rather be sleeping right now." Midnight yawned.
"Yeah. See you around Batsy. Nighty whitey." Red Hood sighed, dodging Midnight's elbow and ignoring her glare.
"Stay out of trouble or get out of my city!" Batman glared at them. Midnight waved him off and Red Hood flipped him off. Nightwing laughed as Midnight growled, grabbing Red Hood's jacket collar and dragged him off.
"Those 2 are annoying," Batman complained.
"Maybe they just act annoying." Nightwing countered. Batman just shrugged. He had more important things to do and that was finding out more about who Midnight and Red Hood are.

~~~
To say that Batman was mad was an understatement. He was furious. For the past week, Midnight and Red Hood had managed to beat Batman to the criminals that were terrorizing the city. After that, they would just casually talk about him as if he wasn't even there and often get away from him when he tried to interrogate them. Not only that but he got no information on them other than the fact that they were from the League of Assassins. To add onto his rage, the Joker has been escaping Arkham 10 time in a day just so he can kill them!
"Hey, Batsy!" He heard Midnight yell from behind him. "We're leaving today. Tell the old trick and his goons to stop bugging the city too. It's getting old."
"That would piss him off." Red Hood sighed.
"Meh. Not like he'll listen. He wants us dead remember." Midnight laughed.
"Shut up and go!" Batman yelled making Midnight laugh harder.
"Wow. Chill Batsy. We're leaving later on." Red Hood chuckled.
"It's a shame we couldn't help Mother more." Midnight giggled.
"She told us to get what we got." Red Hood sighed. Midnight shrugged. Batman could hear the 2 leave after what Red Hood said.
"This only seemed to open more questions for you didn't it Batsy?" Batman heard the voice of Joker but before he could react he felt a sharp pain followed by the world going black.
