Chapter Eight: An Old Friend?

3rd Person P.O.V.

As the night quickly passes and the clock strikes it's hand to point on the number seven, each guest goes out and onto their carriages. Away from the crowd, and still inside the ballroom, stood five people. Two Earls and two butlers, or rather, two demons. And one of the Earl's fiancée, Lady Elizabeth Midford.

One man in a dark green suit was walking in the hallway where the (new) Phantomhive maid found him wandering around and admiring every picture he sees.

"Are you perhaps lost sir?" Asked the (H/C) haired maid.

"Maybe I am, young girl." He said, as her eyebrow twitched when called a "young girl".

'I am much, much more older than you think.'

"Would you please follow me then? I'll lead you to the exit." The girl says, a forced smile adorned her face as she does so.

"Oh no, I'm here to talk to the head of this house." He replied. "I have some important matters to speak with him."

"I'm sorry sir, but the Earl has had a tiring day. It is time for him to retire." She paused, "He would love it if you could come tomorrow, I'll make a schedule. Is that alright?" She asked, frozen still as the mysterious man walks closer to her with purple, glowing eyes that seem to hypnotise her.

"Oh? But I am dying to meet him." He says while shaking his head as his voice puts the girl in some sort of trance. "I'm sure you wouldn't mind leading me to him, don't you?"

The (H/C)-ette smiled, "Of course not, sir."

"Then by all means lead the way." He smiles, as the two of them started walking.

The trip lasted for about 30 minutes of silence. No one daring to say a single word, making the silence quite awkward. The two eventually arrive at the study room of the Earl Phantomhive. And as she knocks, a tired and barely audible 'come in' was heard from inside.

"Young master, this kind gentleman has asked to have a word with you." Says the girl, as she opens the door to see the Earl yawns.

He groaned in tiredness, "(Y/N), what is it he-" He stopped dead in his tracks once he looked up and sees the unfamiliar purple color replacing the (H/c)-ette's beautiful, (E/c) orbs.

"Earl Phantomhive! It is so nice to finally meet you." The unnamed man exclaimed.

"And who is it that I have the pleasure to talk to?" Ciel asked.

"Oh, silly me. I am Taylor, Logan Taylor." He smirked, "And I would like to have a chat with you about matters."

The Earl nodded, then sent a knowing glance to his maid. Knowing fully that whatever it is that's controlling her, isn't really doing its job at all.

"(Y/N), please take care of this man." Ciel ordered.

The girl nods, as she elbows the man's chin, resulting in her freedom. Then proceeded twist the man's arm.

"AAAAAAGGGGGHHH!" He screamed in pain, and the (H/C) had to cover his mouth to stop him from screaming so loudly again.

"Sir, would you please quiet down? There are still guests inside and the master is quite tired." She whispered in his ear and later on removed her hand off his mouth once he seem calm enough. The man called "Logan" growls, his hazel eyes becoming red. "(Nickname) dear, please let go of me."

(Y/N)'s eyes narrowed into slits (Edit: Is she part cat? lol). She finds his voice familiar in a way she can't figure out why. And there's also this feeling of something incredibly wrong with that.

"Oh my, have you really forgotten your best friend? I'm hurt."

Her eyes widen in realisation, "A-Austin...is that really y-you?" She asked, as her mind fills with memories. Long forgotten ones.

"Of course. I thought you forgot about me." He tightly hugged her frozen figure.

The sound of someone clearing their throat made (Y/N) look back, straight at her master, "Oh sorry Milord. He's just a friend of mine, we haven't seen each other in a while."

"Can he stay here, young master? Just for a while, I promise he won't cause trouble."

The Earl's eyes narrowed as he goes deep in thought, as he finally nods he says, "Just a little reminder, you have to take full responsibility for him."

"Of course, I'll take care of him."

"Good," Said Ciel. "I have no plan of getting this manor rebuild by an irresponsible accident."

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Young master it is time to retire." Sebastian says as he opens the door to reveal Ciel at his desk, (Y/N) close to the door and a wolf next to her. "(Y/N), what's that thing beside you?" He asked the girl, as he looked at the creature, glaring daggers at him.

"Oh, this is just my friend. No need to worry. Master and I already discussed that he'll be staying here for a while, just some friends catching up on what's new." She replied. Then she bent down to her friend's level and tried to convince him that Sebastian isn't a threat.

Austin turned back to his 'human' form to greet Sebastian, holding out his hand after his transformation finished. "Austin, Austin Brown at your service." He smiled.

"Nice to meet you, Austin. Sebastian Michaelis, head butler of the Phantomhive manor." Said Sebastian, returning the shake with hesitance and suspicion behind his crimson orbs.

Sebastian then turned to face his master and walked to him, helping him to get to his chambers.

As they left, (Y/N) grabbed Austin's hand and they started their journey to find a room suitable for Austin to stay in.
