Chapter Nine: An Odd Encounter

3rd Person P.O.V.

"Good night."

The word left her lips as the door leading to the brunette's room closed, and (Y/N) left Austin in his chambers to rest. The girl went inside her room, which was just in front of the boy's quarters, and plopped down onto her bed after she changed into her nightwear.

She sighs in content as her body slightly sunk into the mattress, allowing herself to relax and forget about today's events to let the itching feeling of sleepiness embrace her in a hug.

She closed her eyes and -- but of course, destiny wouldn't let her do so. Her eyes were still closed, yet her mind is still active, not letting her to get any chance to sleep. She tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable enough to pass out right on the spot.

But alas, she was still awake.

She finally decided that nothing would work, and opened her (E/C) eyes and stared at the ceiling.

She stood up from her bed and walked to her window, opening it and staring at the full moon that seemed to shine on her figure. Embracing her body in a blanket of light.

'The moon is so beautiful tonight.'

A smile graced her lips as she enjoys the silence and peace of the night, she breathes out a sigh of delight as she closed the opened window sill before turning to face her room.

(Y/N) looked around her room, trying to spot anything that could entertain her until her body could no longer stay conscious.

[(A/n: too much?)]

Her (E/C) eyes soon directs into a small, brown leather notebook that was perched on her bedside table. On the first page was a text written in black ink; The to-die list of (Y/N). She grabs it, and scans the object's contents for signs of uncompleted missions that she has missed.

She sighs in disappointment as she finds none.

Deciding that her room didn't have anything to entertain her, she grabbed a coat from the hangar in her closet and opened her room door. She peeked her head out to see if anyone is lurking the area, and after finding no one, she got out of her room and closed the door making little to no sound.

She turned around, only to be faced with the nicely carved wooden door of her friend's sleeping quarters. She took one step and raised her hand about to knock on the wooden surface, only to leave it hanging in the air as second thoughts swirled in her mind.

'What if he's occupied?'

The thought crossed her mind as her hand went back to her side, she backed away from the door and turned to face the hallway that is layed out in front of her.

She took a step forward, and that is where her journey will begin.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

I stare at the portrait of the young master wearing a long elegant coat made of the finest silk. My (E/c) eyes divert to his ocean blue ones as I can feel the sorrow and remorse deep within. But what masks the true emotions of the young master is his thirst for revenge.

I sigh at the thought of such a young boy being tainted at his youth. Thus, enabling him to enjoy the life a normal child would've lived.

'Like me.'

The thought crosses my mind as pictures start to appear within my line of vision, slowly, I remember the blurry scenes of the past coming back to haunt me.

I remember a young, naive girl being carried away by her father, her surroundings continue to burn from the raging fire of the enemies. Tears continuously escaped her saddened eyes as her father carried her to the woods.

Only to leave her alone inside a willow tree.

This specific tree, they say, it was created to teleport you to anywhere you want. But you can only use it one a time, and there's no room for two people to fit into.

The man known as the girl's father places his daughter into the wooden pod and lays her down gently unto the floor, he kisses her forehead one last goodbye before he closes the two doors of the tree, whispering the place for the willow tree to transport her to.

Tears threaten to escape his eyes as he chokes on a sob, he couldn't bear to let go of his daughter, for she's the only one he has left. He couldn't bear to imagine how he would cope with losing the ones he loved, but he didn't dare to give into these feelings, his daughter will be safe in the reaper realm. No demon has ever set foot on that place, but since she's part reaper, like her mother, it will suffice. At least, this is better than her being hunted to the depts of hell, he thought as he slowly backed away from the object and ran back to his castle.

The girl cries, her little fists bangs on the doors, but no one could hear her weeps as she slowly succumbs into the darkness, her body weakening as her banging slowly disappears, until there were none. She had gone into another place.

From which, she found an old reaper that helped her to grow into the girl she is today.

I thought as I blink, my eyes stinging at the long amount of time I spent for staring at such a simple self portrait. I backed away from the object and turned around.

I was about to take a step forward when I suddenly felt goosebumps and I instantly stop. I look around, trying to spot the reasoning behind this weird feeling of being watched by something.

No, someone.

I shiver at the thought of some weird man looking at me from wherever they might be. I shook my head to rid of these thoughts.

'Calm down (Y/N), maybe you're just a bit paranoid. Yeah, that's gotta be it, right?' I reassured myself with a forced smile stretching its way to form on my face.

I flinched at the sound of a creak.

'R-right?'

I turned around to find the source of the sound and suddenly, a loud crash erupted from behind me and I released a small, yet loud, shriek and quickly ran down the hallway to get away from it, whatever it was.

I bolted inside a random room and closed the door quickly, leaning against it as I place a hand atop where my loudly beating heart would be.

'I-I should be away from that thing. For now...' I thought as I took slow breaths to slow my pounding heart.

Once my heart begin to beat normally again, I looked around the room that I have went in. The room seems to be lighted by a large, crystal chandelier. And the wooden floor seems to be polished to the point where it reflects the light. There was a small elevated platform built just in front of a wall of curtains, and I concluded that behind those silk fabrics were windows.

But the thing that catches my attention the most is the black, grand piano that sits on top of the wooden platform. I walk towards it, grazing my fingers on the keys as I marvel at the sight of such a beautiful yet expensive instrument.

"Do you know how to play?"

Hi dear Readers!

Oh, I know that I said this was on hold, but like. I can't just ignore a great idea. Even though it's kind of making me feel a bit of deja vu. Also, because of this, I shall at least try to update once per 2 weeks I suppose.

At least, it's better than a year, amirite? *back faces 2018*

...and my writing style has changed, a lot. Hehe. I'm sorry if it bothers you, it can't be helped. Changes are always a possibility in this changing world. So the best advice I have for you is; "Expect the Unexpected."

Anyways, have a wonderful day/night dear Readers! Peace out!
