I walked home nervously, clenching my fists. I was trying to ignore the fact that Kim Taehyung was walking right behind me.
I was suppressing the need to jump up, turn around, and shout "I LOVE YOU,". I let out a sigh of relief when I arrived at my house. I lived in a pretty modern neighborhood. My house was 2 stories, with a basement, and was painted a cheerful blue.
Tall, sweeping trees, that I didn't know the name of, covered my front yard with their long jungle branches and plentiful leaves.
Taehyung's family had moved almost 2 years ago and I had never said more than three words to him. I remember my mom inviting them over for dinner when they first moved in...
I groaned, "Mom! There's no point in wearing a suit and tie! One, I don't even know them and it's not even that formal and two, I'm going to get food stains all over it and get embarrassed!"
"Whatever, child!" my mom yelled at me from downstairs, "They're here now so you don't have time to change!"
I sighed, very loudly, and stomped down the stairs intending to be rude. The doorbell rang.
"Jungkook, get it! I need to make the noodles look nicer!" my mom ordered.
I was very annoyed now and headed toward the door. I opened it with a surly expression but that immediately dissolved when I saw the Kim family. Well, more specifically, their son.
His mom looked nice, with a blue dress printed with flowers. He and his dad were both wearing suits. I guess it was that formal. His little sister was wearing a pink dress with a big purple bow at the back.
I bowed, "Hello, welcome to our house, please come in,"
I couldn't stop staring at their son. He looked to be around the same age as me. He had fluffy brown hair that slightly covered his eyes and bright eyes. He had a beautiful smile, all boxy and rectangular. He looked so...real.
We sat down at the dinner table and my mom and dad said hi and all that good stuff. I was forced to sit next to their son, which was very awkward for me.
I ate very little that night, which was very unusual for me. My mom kept looking at me weirdly.
"So, this is Jungkook," my mom said, gesturing to me, "how old is Taehyung again?"
Taehyung, I repeated in my mind, Kim Taehyung. I imagined saying it aloud, the name dancing lightly on my tongue.
"He's 15," Mrs. Kim replied smiling, "Just two years older than Jungkook,"
"Forced to wear a suit, too?" a voice whispered next to me.
Startled, I looked to my side to see Taehyung grinning at me. God, his voice was beautiful and deep and so husky and...oh wait, I still need to reply to him. I must look so stupid.
"Y-yeah," I stuttered, blushing until I must've looked as red as the kimchi on my plate. Why did I have to stutter?
He smiled at me again, his whole face looking happy and cheerful. I managed a small smile back and inwardly slapped myself. Why would you show him your messed up bunny teeth?
I bit my lip and was silent the rest of the night.
When they left, Taehyung smiled again at me and said goodbye to me specifically.
"Bye, Jungkook! See you at school!" he said happily before running out the door.
Later, I went to my room and repeated his name until I fell asleep.
I wished I had become friends with him. Instead, I was and still am nervous and too scared to go near him. He must think I'm so weird.
Now he's just friends with Namjoon, Jin, and Jimin and those kids.
I just have my one solitary friend, Min Yoongi.
Taehyung's in all of my classes yet I still don't talk to him. Girls flock around his desk while he steadfastly tries to ignore them.
I realized I had a crush on him last year when a girl kissed him. He had pushed her away and wiped his mouth but I had felt such intense anger that I had to go to the washroom and carve some more words into the wall.
Jae Eun is a bitch.
It didn't matter though. He was probably straight, anyways.
My jealousy had ripped through my insides that I had skipped school for the rest of the day. I ran home, passing Taehyung in the hallways, where he looked at me curiously with his beautiful chocolate eyes.
That's the only attention I'll ever get from him.
