[3rd Person POV]
Taehyung panted as he pushed open the door to the school's infirmary with his shoulder. He stood dripping in the lobby, hair wet and sticking to his forehead. He glanced down at the small load in his arms, shivering and cuddled up against his chest.
"Can I get some help here?" he yelled out.
A nurse walked out and quickly took notice of them.
"Follow me!" she commanded quickly and beckoned them down a hall, "What happened?"
"Kim Namjoon," he whispered monotonously, his wet shoes squeaking against the floor.
The nurse, aware of Namjoon's status in the school, nodded in a way that was more of a grimace and opened the door to a room where Taehyung lay Jungkook down.
He brushed a kiss on Jungkook's forehead. The nurse came over with rubbing alcohol, blankets, towels, and bandages.
"If you could step back, please," she asked. Taehyung did as he was told and stood near the door, anxiously biting his lip. She removed Jungkook's soaked shirt and pants and tossed them in a basket. Then she wet the towels and wiped Jungkook's blood and the mud off of him.
She cleaned his wounds well and carefully placed bandages over each one. Then she covered him with a blanket.
She turned back to Taehyung who was gazing at Jungkook.
"What's his name? I need to call his parents to pick him up," she explained.
"His name is Jeon Jungkook," Taehyung answered, "But, I am his neighbor so can I just take him home?"
The nurse stared him down, narrowing her eyes, as if judging whether he was lying or not.
"What's your name?" she pursed, moving over to the computer in the corner of the room.
"Kim Taehyung," he replied quickly.
She typed his name into the system, checking his address and then the same with Jungkook's name.
"Okay, I'll let the school know that you won't be returning," she finally relented.
Taehyung smiled gratefully at her and ran back out into the desperate, pounding rain.
-
Taehyung looked through the mirror at the small bundle snoring peacefully along the backseats.
He grinned softly at the sight and returned his focus back on the road. Once he arrived back at his house, he parked quickly in the garage.
He easily lifted Jungkook, frowning at how light he was, reminding himself to cook Jungkook a large meal.
Taehyung carried Jungkook up the stairs to his bedroom and laid him down on the bed, wrapping the latter in fluffy blankets and resting his head on soft pillows.
Jungkook lay there peacefully, the bruises decorating his face sadly.
Taehyung sighed and turned away to make them food.He quietly escaped to the kitchen and prepared a big meal of chicken, potatoes, curry, and rice.
Displaying the food nicely on a tray, Taehyung snuck up the stairs back to Jungkook. He pushed open the door gently and sat beside his angel.
Taehyung set the tray down on the bedside table and got into bed. He snuggled and cuddled with the fluffy baby near him and smiled in contentment.
-
[Jungkook's POV]I inhaled. A spicy scent of curry and the salty, crisp smell of chicken and potatoes filled my nostrils. But something else overpowered those scents.
Taehyung.
Taehyung had a distinct smell, vanilla with a little mint.
Wait. Taehyung?
I whimpered as I shifted my body, pain shooting like sparks across every inch of my body.
Taehyung's steady breathing quickly stopped and his eyes snapped open. I didn't realize we were cuddling.
"Baby?" He whispered.
I turned to look at him, pain travelling.
"It hurts," I whined, closing my eyes in pain.
"I know, baby, I know," he comforted me, pressing my shaking body to his. I whimpered, feeling bruises across my abdomen.
I ignored the events of today and focused on Taehyung and his amazingness.
In his arms, for the first time, I truly felt loved.
