Chapter 3

Raena's POV:

"She's disgusting." Alexa said to me as we rode past the Waters house. Who could argue... She was! She should be ashamed of her life, I mean who would want to become a shut in.

"Not only is she that, but she killed her own mother!" Alexa argued, her face getting pink. I nodded. "Well that's what we think, but she probably did." Alexa laughed as we rode our bikes home.

We rode our bikes into the 3 car garage that we have. Even though we don't have 3 cars, it still is a great use to us (storing our bikes).

"Hi mom." I said as we walked through the front door. My mom nodded a hello since her hands were full with folding laundry. "Did you get Waters secret?" She asked hopefully.

We shook our heads, sadly. Alexa groaned, "Jeez when are we ever going to find it out. It's not like she's gonna tell us it when we ask!"

I thought about that for a moment and then an idea popped into my head. "Follow me Alexa." I motioned for her to follow me up to our purple painted room.

"Spill it." Alexa ordered.

"Well since AnnaKate isn't going to tell US, we can make her tell someone else."

Alexa looked at me like I was an alien. "And how is that supposed to work?" She asked with a touch of sarcasm. I smiled. "Well you see, normally people only tell personal things to people they trust very well."

I paused to take a breath.

"So why don't we give her someone to trust very well."

Finally, the idea sunk into Alexa. She smiled, the same smile I had. "You're saying we give her a boyfriend aren't you?"

I nodded as she smiled again.

Over dinner that evening, Alexa and I shared our plans with the whole family (we live with our parents and grandparents). "Sounds like a great idea.... But how do you know the boy is going to agree on the plan?" My dad asked.

Alexa groaned. "Dad have you never heard of bribing?" I laughed.

My dad said, "Yes, but I'll give him the money as long as you guys know this will work."

We both nodded in sync, anxious to get this plan on the move. Then my dad said, "ok it's settled, we will go searching for a boy in the morning."

That cracked everyone up.

The next morning, I woke up with a smile on my face because I knew the day was going to go great.

I skipped down the stairs to arrive to a steaming hot bowl of oatmeal, with a cinnamon bun on the side.

Halfway through my breakfast, Alexa bounded down the winding staircase. "NO NEED FOR BOY HUNTING, I HAVE ALREADY FOUND ONE!" She screamed. My dad and I looked at each other, puzzled that Alexa had actually figured something out.

Alexa turned to me. "Raena, you know that kid Walter Ways at our school?"

"Yes." I said, letting her continue.

"Well, since AnnaKate doesn't go to school she wouldn't know Walter. That means she would have no idea that this is a set up or anything!"

"He's coming over at noon." Alexa instructed. "Dad have the money out and everyone look presentable. This is a losers future fake boyfriend we're talking about."

Almost exactly when the hand switched to the 12, the doorbell rang. I answered it, as rehearsed.

There was Walter, a tall (but not too tall) bright green eyes, and flipped to one side brown hair, stood. He really was quite attractive. If things didn't work out, at least then I could have him! I laughed to myself.

"Hey you must be Walter!" I greeted, even though we both knew eachother. He smiled, "Yeah I heard you need an urgent favor.

"Indeed Walter we do." I said as I led him down the hallway to our living room which my dad and Alexa sat it. They both said a nice, "Hello Walter" as rehearsed.

Walter and I said down on one of the small flower printed couches. "So Walter we need your help." Alexa started (rehearsed).

"We have a enemy named AnnaKate Waters. We think she's hiding something about her mother's death. And we need to you fall in love with her as soon as possible."

We all waited for Walter to respond. "So your saying you want me to be her fake boyfriend?" He asked.

We nodded.

"Heck no!" He said, obviously angry. "I'm not pretending to like a girl when 1) she might not even like me and 2) that's just wrong."

This was my dad's turn to speak. He reached in his brown work pants and pulled out a wad of money.

"Water we are prepared to offer you $1,000,000 for this task. And the girls have told me how much you need to pay your rent."

He paused, and then added, "I think this will help" in a low whisper. You could see the uncomfortable fear in Walter's eyes. He inhaled sharply and said, "Fine I'll do it."

I smiled. "We start tomorrow."

But anyways I hope you like chapter 3

It's kinda lame but whatever (- _ -)

I won't be posting tomorrow either because I'm going to see TFIOS!
