Death has stepped upon my door, I wish him well, but he will not be taking my soul today -Dr.Snow April 25th, 1983
I look to death whom of which had appeared into my room, uninvited and most certainly unexpectedly. His tall silhouette stares at me with his light blue piercing eyes, the same eyes that are basically a hypocrite in of themselves. I gently raise my hand and motion to a small tea pot I have on a flame near my chem lab. The tea pot itself begins to softly whistle but not much how ever, just beginning onto its loud whistle signaling the water has been heated enough, and is now ready to use for brewing.
"Tea?" I respectfully ask the one whom has taken the name of "Death, Taker of Souls" He then softly shifts forward and looks at me directly, his full body and eyes facing me. He says in a deep, stable, monotone but yet emotion lead voice: "No, thank you." I softly nod in response of "You're welcome" then goes to the screaming Tea pot and turns off the flame to let it rest. I gently pour myself a fine glass of White Jasmine Tea, and looks at carefully Death who inhales, and exhales sounding annoyed. "So, Death...What brings you here to my current status of stay?" I ask him with curiosity unintentionally filling my tone.
"You have caused a major disease Richard, how am I not to come and see you, and see how you have done it?" He replies quicker then I expected but no matter, I look at him the same as I was before and "hm" softly. "I see." I say calmer and slightly sounding disappointed. I look to Death and ask him as wonder fills my calm and mellow voice "So, now that you're here, what do you wish to do?" As if death had read my own mind, he pulled out a deck of cards. Carefully raising my eyebrow to him I open my mouth to speak "You wish to play a game of cards?"
Death's deep and raspy voice rings throughout the room as he responds to my question "Yes, why else would I have cards hm?" I softly chuckle at his response turned into a question and say with pleasure in my tone "Sure, I will play a game with you." But little did I know that he had other plans. Death opened up a portal and waved me to go in first, I softly bow and walk in as he shortly followed.
Upon entering the Rift, or Portal, which ever you would prefer to call it; Death and I both entered into a nice little house, small, warm, cozy, and definitely one to fit Death's morbid and dark personality, I look down just to watch a little girl run by and almost face planting into my legs but dodges my with ease. I softly raise my right outer eyebrow in confusion and un-amusement as I see her run directly to death and he picks her up, spinning in a circle and greeting her. "Why hello my little fire of love Sarah" he says with a bundle of joy lacing his voice. I adjust my stance and put my arms behind my back and hold them respectfully, my left hand covering my right and holding it by the wrist. "You seem to be very well aquatinted with this young one" I say with a soft chuckle in my tone.
Death just turns and looks to me and says with his normal unamused voice "yes, I would hope I would know my own daughter." I softly nod in understanding and tell him with joy lacing my own tone: "Oh, well congratulations Death, I feel joy for you, that you may have the pleasure of having a little one to watch over" softly I laugh and looks at Sarah and gently wave as I take off my hat and wave it gently in the air as a hello "Hello little one." I carefully watch her wave back and give what appears to be a smile as her hand bursts into flames with what seems like joy. "Huh, she has a burning personality... I feel bad for any man who dates her and hurts her." I look to death and he just stares at me not saying anything, just mute.
I softly blink and then look at the ground lightly scratching the side of my head from the awkwardness and finally I hear him speak "Well, let's get to the game of cards shall we?" I nod and swiftly go to the neat red colored couch and gently take a seat as I look at the coffee table of which's legs are made of skulls and femurs. "Interesting choice of furniture" I say with curiosity, I as well look to death who begins setting up a poker game for the two of us. Death softly looks to me, taking his eyes off the cards and gently gazing into my eyes and says "thank you very much, I took my time on carving it very much so the way it is." I softly chuckle and lightly take the cards into my hands and look at them lightly. Grinning softly as I stare at death's Hypocritical eyes.
"I already won the game." I say with high pride and smiles brightly and watches Death. "Impossible, there is no way you could have won already." He says with slight anger showing in his voice. "Wish to bet?" I say with even more pride and laughs at his anger. "If you lose, I'll be having your soul" he tells me with anger in his tone. I laugh deeply and reply "Alright, if I win, you have to show me what it where I would be if I were to die those years ago when I was meant to." Staring at death in his cold blue eyes he softly grunts in what seems like to be a scoff or chuckle almost and he says "Very well, is a bet" he chuckles darkly and both of us play our cards. I have a royal Flush and he holds a three heart two of a kind.
"Like I said, I won this already. Now pay up" I laugh in victory and smile deeply at death. Suddenly, Death grabs my hand and his eyes turn a mix of a blue and red, he glares into my own eyes and my skin begins to rot on my left arm, jerking back from being surprised I look at my arm and see what looks to be a flesh eating bacteria. "What did you do?" I ask with slight worry and mostly curiosity running in my voice. "I placed a curse of rot onto you, the very thing you did to those poor souls before, it's only fair. Now, time to hold my end of the bargain, follow me." He says with a darker and more sinister filled voice. I nod and stand up, then follow him as he opens a portal once more and enters it. The portal like rift shuts behind us and leaving the room as to what it was. Little Sarah.J.Heart is in store for a very adventurous future, but she has yet to know.
