As Calum and I enter the nightclub, I begin to loosen up, reassured that there would be no kids for Calum to be grabbing. I love the guy, but he really needs to work on his problem. The lights were hazy, but my crisp, sharp vampire vision never fails me.

I eyed the women gossiping, their toned legs glistening, the glimmer in their smiles reminded me of the glimmer on the daggers I used when I first turned, unable to use my fangs as defence yet.

The child me, was weak, afraid and confused. Teenage me was reckless, desperate to use my powers everywhere, playing girls with my enchanting eyes, playing them like an innocent monopoly game, which snowballs into conflict against Count Hemmings and Count Clifford. They would always threaten me, saying that they could kill my mother at any moment due to  my actions. Sometimes, out of anger I would tell them to kill her, my adrenaline clasping my tongue. And after I would self destruct, ashamed that I would say that, using my strength against myself, forever an enemy of my own self.

These nostalgic thoughts of my past won't stop floating around my mind, absorbing all energy I have to hunt tonight. I look over to Calum, seeing him already cosy with a blonde girl on each  arm. What is it with blondes and Calum? He notices I'm looking at him instead of searching for my own meal, so he peels the girls' hands off his biceps and walks over to me, his arms crossed.

"What's up? Can't find anyone? That girl over there looks like she would be sweet," Calum speaks, but I can't think properly, the bass was booming in my eardrums.

"I just need a second, I'll meet you at the hotel, I'm not feeling too well" I reply. Calum nods, understanding . I decided to go on a walk.

As I leave the nightclub and the line of people waiting to enter, I see two people arguing, quite loudly.

"Please, Badr you can't do this, you know how much this upsets Mama" The girl says, crying and gripping the boy by his arm sleeves. I guessed he was her brother, with the way she said 'Mama' as if they both shared the same mother. She looked so scared and weak, I sympathized for her, so I helped her out.

Why did I do that. That was where everything lost order, where I lost control.

"Are you okay?" I ask the girl, so she looks up at me, and that's when I first noticed her eyes, her eyes that no vampire could compete against. A brown tone, that had flecks of copper dancing around her pupil. Her hair, pitch black and curly, making the honey in her eyes pop even more.

"Please help me get my brother back into the car, he won't listen and wants to meet his drug dealer in there," She speaks confidently, pointing towards the nightclub. I watched her flushed lips as she spoke, and her soft features, so vulnerable that I couldn't help but feel the need to protect her. I nodded,  dragging her brother towards the car, seeing as he was obviously drunk, and he let me, probably because of my vampire strength.

The whole time the girl was staring at me wide-eyed, as if I was Jesus resurrecting when crucified. She looked so pure, so exceptional, how could this girl possibly be human? Her pale skin, a perfect contrast to the dark hues of her hair, and her eyes, her eyes. They held all the precious metals inside; flecks of gold, platinum, silver, copper, orbiting her pupils. She could tell I was looking at her, and began to blush. The flush of red to her cheeks made my fangs whine, begging for a taste of her purity. Shit.

Once I got her brother into the car, I gulped, knowing that if I didn't feed, I wouldn't be able to find my way back to the hotel. I turn around, making perfect eye contact with this girl, her tear stained cheeks still a rosy colour.

"Thank you, so much, you don't understand how much this means to me," She speaks, fluttering her eye lashes. I laugh, letting out my fangs, and settle on a dimply-grin. "It was nothing" I say. "No, seriously. He would've gone back inside if it weren't for you, and the shots they give my brother damages him so much, he gets so aggressive and doesn't understand how much its destroying him. Please, what can I do for you," She continues, and I just completely lose it. Her blood was practically dancing for me. I reached for her face, and lunged at her neck. But for some reason I couldn't let out any of my own blood to poison her to death, like I usually do to other humans. I let go, satisfied, the bulging veins under my eyes softening. She looks at me in shock, gripping her neck where I had bitten her. Blood gives me a certain rush, an ego I don't usually let people see, so I wink at her, before realizing how stupid I must've looked. "Ashton, you just sucked her blood. How the hell do you think that winking would make her get over it" I thought to myself. Trying to ignore my wink, I ask her for her name.

"What's your name?" I asked, breathing heavily, still recovering from the adrenaline boost.

"Amani" She spoke, before getting into her car quickly, hurrying away, and then she was gone.

but her eyes never left my mind.
