My name is Sophia Grace, i'm sixteen and i've been out in this world with my kid sister, Sam for four years. We found our friend Aidan two years after the start. Since then, it's been us against the world, quite literally.
When the machines took over, it was like a scene from a movie. The take over started small, life still went on, we were oblivious to the danger that was lerking behind the shadows. People we're dying more frequently until one day, buildings were raided, floor by floor, gunshots became louder and louder. My parents packed bags for sam and me, they kissed our heads and led us to the window. We stayed behind long enough to hear the final sounds of our parents whispering silent 'i love you's to eachother, then there was nothing. I've protected Sam through everything, when something goes down, i tell her to run, she's begun to call me croak from how much i've done and still lived. Aidan came soon after, he spotted us from afar trying to fight off some fort of flying machine that looked like a fly. He keeps us sane. We found a couple of safe places but never really found a good safe spot. When we were out hunting one day, we heard gun shots, i looked at Aidan and grabbed Sam by the arm, i whispered for her to climb the tree closest to us and Aidan and i began running after the shots. A boy was trying to fight off what looked to be a swarm of the robots, i began shooting and pulling some down to stomp on them while Aidan pulled the kid away. That boy was named Dan, we called him rockstar becuase he told us about how, before this happened, he was in a band and he was lead singer and basist. We ask him to sing for us sometimes, it makes us feel at ease. This is my little family in this world that seems to have gone mad.
