Holding my hand out I felt as water began to trickle down my arm, "That rain sure came fast" I half chuckled and looked to Frier with pleading eyes, "Can we run through it?" I asked with an innocent voice. Frier shrugged and smiled, "Why not?" I yipped and jumped into the mud. I always enjoyed the sinking sensation there is in thin mud.
Jumping up, I skipped around my fire pit before plopping down to end up grabbing a whole handful of mud. Looking to Frier she was giggling, "I've never seen you so happy before" She chuckled looking as if she was planning on joining me. "That's because you've never seen me at the house while it's raining" I laughed and motioned my hand over, "Come on! The water feels great!" I continued to speak half in laughter. Frier took off her socks before leaping in with me, "Caroline... Why are you holding the mud like that?" She asked me looking at the mud that somewhat drapped over my arms. Turning my attention to the mud in my arms I saw that it looked as if I was craddling a baby, "Well, maybe I love mud" I teased her, Frier rolled her eyes and laughed with me.
Looking to the back door I felt my stomach grumble, "Aye, I'm hungry. Want to go inside and fix something to eat?" I asked Frier now beginning to turn the mud into a little ball. Frier nodded, "Sure, but first we should clean up" She said motioning to our mud covered clothing. I laughed and pointed to my almost empty pool, "Way ahead of ya" I told her with her laughing along and we then walked in.
Clearing our clothes of the damp earth I turned to Frier and nodded, "Alright, lets go" I offered eagerly, I just wanted something to eat right now. Frier nodded, "Agreed" She said before heading inside. I took a little longer to scrap myself of mud, looking around I saw a dark figure in the distance. To me it seemed to be an extremely large wolf. So I dashed to the door and when I turned around to check it was right there, I froze for a moment as it stared at me with crimson eyes.
Backing away I stepped into the house but it seemed to be making the same motions, "Caroline" I heard it say, strange, the voice sounded mechanical. I tried to slam the door on it but it's paw was in the way, I then heard Frier's shriek behind me, "What.. What is that?" She asked shakily, but I didn't reply.
Looking behind the creature I noticed it was joined by a second. They both seemed to have the same crimson optics but the second creature's pelt shined far more brown. "Caroline, Frier, we have come to tell you who you are" The first creature said. What does it mean 'who you are' ? I stepped backwards, it stepped forward I was more uneasy than ever, "What do you mean?" I asked, although I was entirely afraid of the creature, I knew that I would have to at least get answers. "You two are what you may call special. That is because of your blood line. My dear, you are a rok"
